Hi William, I think it sounds like you haven't quite understood the 2 states. Essentially, you will save more power if you turn the unit off completely. I believe that the only thing that is then using power is the internal clock. The point of the Power Save mode is to be more efficient than it would be if you left the unit switched on. The disadvantage of switching off completely is that it takes around 40 or 50 seconds to boot up again whereas from Power Save mode it is almost instant. Hence it is a case of "what you win on the swings, you lose on the roundabouts". If rapid use is important, then leave it turned on, if battery life is important, switch the unit off completely. If you want the in between option, go for Power Save mode. Hope that makes it clearer.
