Hi Penny, If you opened the folder and deleted the mp3 file with the PC, the audio is gone. If you "deleted" using the PTR2 menu, then the audio still exists. You just put a "bracket" around it using the DAISY editing feature so it doesn't show up in playback. You just have to massage it with the PC or with the PRS software. Your best bet is still to use the PRS app or other editing software. Review the tutorial or manual for a bit of instruction before trying to use it. You can use any other audio editing sw if you are more comfortable with it, just copy/paste the mp3 file from the PTR2 DAISY book into the PC. Basically, with PRS, you import the "book" you created, i.e., A00000001.mp3, the audio file containing the ceremony within the folder BookDirx. The PRS software will import the audio as phrases. The PRS software allows you to remove the headers, crop and delete the audio, move phrases around, and in general create the final "book" in DAISY format. You can save or discard changes to get the audio the way you want. The book can be saved off back to the PTR CF card subject to more editing. The audio file(s) can also be extracted as standalone without headers, or the audio can be "built" as a book. If you build the book, it can only be listened to with an app that reads DAISY. In a nutshell, the folder contains the headers and info, the audio remains original if you use the PTR for editing. If you use the PRS or other editing sw like Soundforge, then the audio is altered. Hope this helps. Can I go back? Let's go at it again. Here's the question upfront with explanation below. Can I delete some folder file, which would eliminate all the track selection spots? Here's what happened. I have a folder which encompasses a whole church service. It's a wedding. There are 5 instrumental songs; then 3 or 4, between which are announcements of the song numbers, prayer, etc. I'm deleting things that I don't need, including the talking. But I deleted one of the songs. Well, you and I both know that it is present on the long string called something like: A000000001.mp3. Well, it's there, we know that the songs are all there. Is it possible, using the Plex 2, to re-awaken the song that no longer is playable? Is it possible to take that folder, with its 4 files, and delete one of them which would make necessary the re-naming of all the tracks in the folder? Perhaps that's a little more understandable? Thanks for any help. I don't title these things at all. Plex just numbers the tracks, and now, as you know, one of the tracks has been eliminated, due to the inexpert moves of me, the digital audio engineer. Thanks again so much. Hi Penney, I assume you have the PTR2? Current firmware version is 1.16.
The files are arranged in alpha order, so if you re-record the song, just make sure the title is in alphabetical order with your other music. You can put a specific order to music by creating a prefix of A-Z or 1-0. Example:"A wonderful life" or "01 wonderful life" would come before "Betcha didn't know that".
The only way to reassign headers would be with the PRS (PLEXTALK Recording Software) on the Plextalk site. http://www.plextalk.com/americas/top/support/ptr2/softwaredownload/

I use a plextalk 2 and i think my software is 1.8. I don't know if I missed some update somewhere. Here's my dilemma: I recorded, we'll say, 5 songs. But in dealing with them, the second song was accidentally deleted; and some other things were done, so that I cannot use the "undo" command now. Can I correct the way that the Plex sees the songs to re-include song number 2? Or do I have to take this to Goldwave on my computer and extract Song Number 2 outside of the plex? Is there something I can do manually on the computer to force the plex to allow me to re-assign heading numbers and the like? I hope I'm making this question clear. Thanks so much.
