Also, if you use a card reader, files are transferred much quicker. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brian and Denise Albriton" <autoharp@shellworld.net> To: "Plextalk User Discussion List" <plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Saturday, August 18, 2012 4:49 PM Subject: Re: [Plextalk] connecting the Pocket to the PC and copying files
I got the not recognized message on my xp machine at work and that went away when I changed usb ports. For the other issue, you might get a card reader and just put files directly to the card.

I am also having problems getting my PC to recognise the Plextalk Pocket. If I connect via the USB cable and then turn on the Pocket, it then says that Windows does not recognise the USB device,, or sometimes I have had an I/O error message. I have more success if I turn the Pocket on before connecting the cable, but I think this is contrary to the instructions.
My second issue is copying DAISY files from my PC to the 16 GB SD card while it is in the Pocket. It will do a few dozen files and then stop saying that there is an I/O error. I then have to copy and paste the remaining files, but it will invariably stop again further down the line and I have to again copy and paste and so on....
I am using Windows XP.
Any suggestions as to why I am struggling?
