Hi again Aidan, It doesn't matter how the unit shuts down - every time it does so, the sleep timer memory (for want of a better word) is wiped out and you would have to reset the sleep timer manually again. I've only double checked on a PTR2 but I guess it will be the same on the PTR1, if you turn off the unit, this effectively overrides the sleep timer and you will need to reset it the next time.
I guess that this makes perfect sense as by turning it off manually, you are doing the job of the sleep timer so there is no need for it to retain the setting the next time the unit is turned on.

So could anyone tel me if the sleeptimer wil be remembered after its used, so if I set it for six minits, and I switch it on later after it expired, will it go off again within six minits or would I need to reset it?
