Are the two cards which work also 4GB? I know on my PTR1 that it will only cope with up to 2GB cards. I am not aware that the CF card comes with a protection switch-unlike SD types. Well, the notches both look the same size, and however much I explore, I can't find any smaller notches inside them. All four cards were ordered at the same time, and as I said, two of them were fine.

There is probably a small notch on one side edge of the card and a larger notch on the other side edge. The larger notch is the side where the protector switch is located. Use your fingernail to locate another small notch on the edge near the larger notch. If the small notch is further away from the end of the card that you insert into a device, then the card is protected. Stick your fingernail in the smaller notch and slide the protector switch toward the end of the card that you insert into a device. Now the smaller notch is closer to the end of the card that you insert into a device, and the larger notch is further away. The card is now not protected, and you can read and write files to the card. I hope this helps. This sounds complicated, but is really easier to do than it is to describe. Once you locate the protector switch, just try both positions until you can create or paste files to the card. Yes, they are FAT32, but I can't find any switch on them.

Hi,
are the cards formated as FAT32? Probably they are formated as ExFAT or something else. And I am not sure if the CF cards also have a protection slider, but if so probably it is in the protected position and returns the wrong reply.
