A possibility. However, why am I also getting 'battery level 0%' and 'no battery installed'? And I'm also getting, 'ac adapter, battery charge complete'. I recharged my old and my new batteries via my old Plextalk in USB, and both batteries charged fully. I wonder if I 'initialised all settings to default', would it cure whatever the problem is. (That is, of course, if it's not a physical issue.) On my older unit, the battery percentage actually decreased while the old power supply was connected between AC and the Plextalk. So it was easy to determine that that supply was at fault there. -----Original Message----- From: Jamie Cuthbertson Sent: Tuesday, October 18, 2016 8:01 PM To: 'Plextalk User Discussion List' Subject: Re: [Plextalk] AC Adapter: No battery installed, or when off AC, 'battery level 0%' . Hi Flor,
From what you describe, I wonder if your power adaptors have a faulty lead. I'm pretty sure that they are single core copper cables for the AC adaptors and may well be easy to fracture if bent a lot. I try to be very careful how I fold it away but I could imagine that a fracture in the lead would be very possible, giving a very intermittent connection or no connection at all.
Just a thought. Jamie -----Original Message-----

Peter, I can understand why you'd be hesitant to try the Linio adapter with the PTP. I bought a second Plextalk Pocket in about September 2014, as first, the power unit supplied with my older one failed, in that when it was connected to AC, it did not charge the battery. (The battery percentage went down while connected with it.) So it was determined that a new power supply was necessary. While waiting for that to come, I tried out some other plugs and they did work (to a degree) to recharge the battery. But I had the misfortune to break the power socket of the PTP (in attempting to make it give me the connect/disconnect sound with the adaptor I was using at the time, which seemed to fit perfectly but didn't give me the sound. After that, the new power supply came, bbut I had decided in the interim between the break and it that the best thing was to get a new Plextalk Pocket altogether, given the difficulty of fixing broken AC sockets like these. So I now need to 'isolate' the problem I am now having, if possible. I'm charging up the battery that came with my old Plextalk, in the hope that, in the event of it reaching full charge, it may give me a proper percentage while I use it in my newer Plextalk. I've been told that if I styill hear the connect/disconnect sound, which I do (though not as often as I'd like to), that means that the socket is still getting power. And the PTP says, "AC adapter. No battery installed." I guess we'll find out fairly soon whether it's a battery problem or not. -----Original Message-----

Hello Flor. I had two power supplies, and both of them seemed to fail. I know it's the same, but I don't want to try my Linio supply in either of the PTP1's. All my units and power supplies are appropriately labelled in Braille, as is the same for all my plugs and chargers. Keep well.
