Hi Pam and Peter and all, Actually, this is exactly what you would expect when using a Pocket to edit your recording. This is because, when you delete sections in the recording, it is simply marking sections of the audio which are not to be played. This action does not remove the original audio from the MP3 file. When you play the edited recording, the timing files (SMIL) tell the player to simply ignore the bits you have nominally deleted. As Andrew mentioned, if you want to properly remove the edits from the final MP3 file, you need to use the PRS software on your computer to run an Audio Export process which then matches your edited recording with the matching MP3 file. Once you do this, you can happily lift the resulting MP3 files out of the DAISY recording in the sure knowledge that the DAISY version and the individual MP3 files will match each other! Hope this helps. Jamie P.S. I would also highly recommend that you get to know how to use the PRS software in any case as it is much easier and quicker to do editing with it rather than on the Pocket itself. -----Original Message----- From: Plextalk [mailto:plextalk-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Pam Bilton Sent: 30 December 2013 00:45 To: Plextalk User Discussion List Subject: Re: [Plextalk] EXPLETIVE NOT DELETED Hmm. Now that's puzzling. Okay here's another suggestion concerning this issue. Try backing up the file without the offensive word then delete the original file from your computer. Then recreate the file on your computer by putting the new file or files on your computer without the swear termonology and I think that might take care of the swear word issue for good. I did delete the word and accompanying noises of me rewinding a tape, etc, which lasts about thirty seconds. I block marked it on the PTP, then deleted that heading, and on the card of that recording the offensive part is not there. However, when I copied the folder to a memory stick, using my computer, it reinstated the deletion.
