I find it is also very helpful to perform a reset by putting the unit in power save, enabling the key lock then press the power butten and hold it in until the unit shuts down It seems to resolve just about every problem that I have had over the years. You should only power off when not using the PTP1 for a longer time. But it looks like the power on button is malfunctioning. It can be fixed.
