Hi Jonathan, The US version was released with the latest US firmware. It will detect and prompt the user to install a newer version when that version is posted. The unit will download and install the version if the prompt is accepted. NLS has not updated their site. Hi Jonathan, The US version is the same hardware. The main difference in firmware is that the Linio in the US does not support Braille format and the Daisy Online Demand Protocol is not functional as there are no US content providers implementing the technology.
The unit does support NLS and Learning Ally.
