Hi, in addition to Bob's info: You can't replace an American unit with European firmware. Some years ago I bought an American unit of the PTP1 in Germany from an American user. Appart from the different powerplug (this unit haven't an European plug) I couldn't install the German firmware on this device. It's no matter as far as you only listen to audio books. But if you plan to read i. e. epub files, you only can read it with the buildin English voice. Yours sincerely Arno
