Penny, Look at the offerings from sound professionals The little Sony actually does a pretty good job for its price. However there are more expensive stereo microphones that also have this same 1/8 inch plug. If you want to make professional quality recordings you need to invest in a patch cord that splits this 1/8 inch connection into 2 XLR connectors. Then the sky is the limit. However most of the professional microphones will need microphone stands to support them and may require phantom power. For the phantom power you will need to also purchase a microphone mixer. If you want a specific recommendation tell us what it is that you wish to record and give us a price range.
