Hi Pele. I tried it with your directions but nothing came out. I only heard my own voice during the recording. I have an iT person who is my volunteer who is coming the 9th of January. I'll have him take a look at it and see what he thinks. If anybody else on the list has done recordings on the computer, you can send me step by step directions on how it's done. I am using a Windows 7 computer. Thanks allot pele. I will let yu know how it goes. I did find directions on how to record from the computer. However, I couldn't get to the speaker using the search feature in Windows 7. If you can tell me how to get to the speaker in Windows 7, I will try it with audacity. -----Original Message----- From: Plextalk [mailto:plextalk-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Pele West Sent: Tuesday, December 29, 2015 9:48 AM To: Plextalk User Discussion List <plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: Re: [Plextalk] Want to record music from my computer to my Plextalk and change the file from a daisy file to an mp3 file Hi Again Personally, I would use Goldwave or Audacity to record the Youtube stream on my computer. But if I was recording onto the Plextalk I would: 1. plug a lead with a 3.5 jack plug at each end into the headphone socket on the sound card and the microphone socket on the Plextalk. 2. Select Recording Settings from the Plextalk Menu 3. Press Select Recording Mode and choose a setting. I usually use Radio. 4. You will then see Select Sound Quality. Select the option you require. I usually record in MP3 Format at 128 Kbps 44.1 Khz Stereo. 5. Press the Record button. It will say "Starting DAISY Editing Mode, Please Wait" and a tip about pressing Record. 6. When you have the Youtube stream on the PC, press Record again and it should record to your SD card. 7. When the recording has finished, press Play/Stop to stop it. Pressing Record will just pause the recording. 8. Put the SD card on which you have just recorded the stream into a card reader on your PC. 9. Use Windows Explorer to find the PlexRecording folder. You should find a subfolder containing an MP3 file beginning with a number and some other DAISY files. Copy the MP3 file to your computer. This is the file you have just recorded. I have never actually recorded from my PC, so others may be able to advise you on the particular settings. I have recorded from my Hi-fi. I hope it goes well Pele West _______________________________________________ Plextalk mailing list Plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org https://lists.hodgsonfamily.org/listinfo/plextalk
