[Plextalk] recording problem

Ok, have been having a bit of a weird issue happening with my plextalk pocket. When i go to record I get a lot of crackle or static when recording with the internal or external microphone/line in . version 6 for the firmware. the version 5 firmware did not do this. What is happening with the recording? also has anyone else had this problem with the recording feature of the plextalk pocket? If needed i could do a recording but i truely am stumped as to why this is happening. I need to use the higher recording levels for the recording volume. Please advise. thanks.
