Sent from my iPhone hey there does anybody know of a reliable source where you can download radio stations from any area of the country including your local stations thank you
I have a question is it just my own imaganation or is the port of the plextalk pocket that the wall adapter connects to very loose? The reason i am asking is that my plextalk pocket will not charge when i use the regular wall adapter. also when using the regular wall adapter while listening to some content on the sd card i have in the plextalk pocket the unit went like totally dead, meanning that i had to take the battery out and place it back in again then it worked just fine how much does an adapter cost for the plextalk pocket?
It sounds as if the port is damaged. You can get a new adapter from Freedom Scientific, sorry I don't know the cost. However, if it's the port, you may need to replace the unit. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Life My Way via Plextalk" <plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> To: "Plextalk User Discussion List" <plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Cc: "Life My Way" <lifemyway@yahoo.com> Sent: Friday, June 19, 2015 11:16 PM Subject: [Plextalk] AC adapter for plextalk pocket.

Mine charges fine from the USB charger for my iPod and I do not need to turn off the plextalk to have it work. I use a USB cable that I received as part of a set of general USB cables from Amazon that are only 4 inches long rather than the long cable that came with the Plextalk. I have never tried it from the USB port on a computer. When the Pocket uses the USB for charging, it goes into the "USB on the go" mode when it detects the +5 from the charger. The Pocket then should not operate "normally". It will trickle charge. For full charging, or to see if a charging problem is the adapter or the battery, turn the unit off and connect to the USB port. Is should fully charge in about 4 hours. If you think the adapter is at fault, Plextalk offers replacement adapters through the corporate office. Contact mromero@shinano.com for pricing and availability. If you think the adapter port is broken or damaged, and you are in the US, contact tech support at 866-962-8176 or support-northamerica@plextalk.com Plextalk is able to replace the connector board. what do you mean by trickle charging? are you saying that a charge will take about a day then to fully charge the battery?
Sorry for a bit of misinformation.....when using the USB for charging from a USB wall converter jack, the unit is functional. When using the USB for charging from a PC, it is not. Then it goes into the USB on the go function when detecting the USB transceiver. Hi Frank, USB OTG just means that the Pocket has the capability to configure itself to be either a host when a USB thumb drive or CDR is attached (for playing) as a stand-alone player, or as a storage device when connected to a PC. As a stand-alone player, it can use a USB CD drive as a source for reading or connected to a thumb drive with documents or books, or, with the supplied cable and the authorization key installed, NLS cartridges. Selection of the USB port as a source is from the "title" key. As a storage device, you can manage data on the SD card if you don't have an SD card reader. The Pocket is seen as a removable device by the OS on the PC or Mac, so you can format, transfer, delete, drag and drop, rename, etc. as if it were a USB hard drive. I wonder in the mean time if the usb port would charge the unit? I don't think so but it is worth a try. -----Original Message-----

I have a question is it just my own imaganation or is the port of the plextalk pocket that the wall adapter connects to very loose? The reason i am asking is that my plextalk pocket will not charge when i use the regular wall adapter. also when using the regular wall adapter while listening to some content
on the sd card i have in the plextalk pocket the unit went like totally dead, meanning that i had to take the battery out and place it back in again then it worked just fine how much does an adapter cost for the plextalk pocket?

but you also forgot the file limatations of only 1024 files per sd card as well bob. why is this and is plextalk going to fix this any time soon?
There is 1024 Folder limit, about 6000 files. This was done in the original firmware primarily to shorten search times at boot and when navigating. There are no plans to change.
