help with my plextalk pocket please
Hi I am trying to change the firmware on my plextalk pocket, I cannot seem to change the uk firmware to the us version, I cannot tolerate the uk tts voices, they are very hard to listen to when I read a book, I have unzipped the files from the plextalk web page but I am just getting two folders, no exe file, what am I doing wrong, is it possible my antivirus is stopping or killing the exe file? I cannot see such a message, I have tried two different sd cards, I have the pocket plugged in to the electric. Regards Adrien
It's been a while since I have upgraded my firmware, but I think you place the two files in the root of your Plextalk, power it off and when you power it back on it starts the installation process and alerts you when it's down. You'll need to be on AC power to do the firmware change. A unit using UK English will not convert to US English. The Pocket is limited to the languages in the geographical area of purchase. Units sold in the US/NA are English and Canadian French only. Units in the EU are UK English and the other available languages posted on the web site. I talked to Plextalk support on this issue and here's the email: Hi Russ, You cannot install the UK English firmware over the US English firmware or switch back and forth.
