Can anyone "talk" me through using the "Build a book" feature on the pocket please? I am particularly interested in being able to contain an 8 disk audio book into one so any help would be appreciated. Regards Val.
Smiles. In the menu go to media manager. Then tab with either your rewind key or your forward key until you hit the choice build book. Then hit confirm and in a few seconds it will say something like book built. Note: There is also a choice cqalled edit book but simply ignore that choice. Pam In God we trust! Hi List, Pam was kind enough to respond to my plea for information re how to use the "Build book" function but I wasn't clear as to when you can actually use this function . . . Do you need to copy all the disks first and then use the function or have I got it completely wrong. Thanks for any help you can give. With kind regards Val. -----Original Message----- From: Plextalk [mailto:plextalk-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Pam Bilton Sent: 24 July 2013 21:59 To: Plextalk User Discussion List Subject: Re: [Plextalk] HOW TObuild a book on the Pocket Plex Smiles. Hi Val, The build book feature is used to turn a DAISY project into a finalised DAISY title that can then be copied and played on other DAISY equipment. The Plextalk recorders such as the PTR1, PTR2 and Pocket can all play both DAISY projects and DAISY finalised titles so, if you only want to play things on one of these players, you probably don't need to use the build book feature. I'm not clear what you are referring to when you talk about "copying all the disks" - perhaps I missed a bit of the thread of this conversation but perhaps you could explain a little more about what you are trying to do and we can then advise you better. Smiles. Hi! Val, you use the build book feature after you've edited a daisy book or a recording which is made into a Daisy Book once it is built. If you have built the book but wish to do further editing, you hit the edit book then you can reedit it while in the rebuild feature, it can't be edited. Pam In God we trust! Hi, wel, as you might already no, each recording you make, pocket group them in their own folder. You can go to media management in the menu, and then press left arrow til you find "build book" and press enter. It will ask if you are sure. Press play/down arrow/hash to confirm and the book will be builded. If you need more control over the process, such as wanting to use the books on cd, I suggest you try out the free prs software. With prs you can not only add extra markup to the book, but you can also use the build in cd riting tool to burn one or more books to cd insuring that they are properly structured and that all machines can see them.
