Hi, I have developed an ongoing issue with my Plextalk Pocket which I cannot resolve. When I am recording both with an auxiliary microphone or the built in microphone, after about 20 minutes it ceases to record as though I have pressed the stop button. I can resume recording but then it repeats the procedure just a few minutes later and then carries on in the same fashion. I can confirm that there is adequate space on the SD card and that the battery has a good charge in it. Any ideas please? Thanks, Steve
Hi Steve, I just recorded 1H40 minutes with the internal microphone with a Linio Pocket (PTP1/Linio) Can you check what is the type of device: PTP1 or PTP1/Linio - which firmware? Recording settings, what quality is set for recording, In the recording setting - custom - one can set also a limited time for recording. Hi Steve, Just an additional comment. If you've selected "custom", there is a parameter for ending the recording when audio ends or exceeds the selected parameter (Marc's comment). For troubleshooting, I'd recommend going to the menu, systems settings, and return to factory defaults. This sets up normal parameters for recording and should allow you to record up to the capacity of the SD card regardless of audio content or any breaks in the audio. If you notice that it shuts off or ends recording without intervention and there is still available space on the card, the unit likely has a problem. Hi Sugar, Make sure you have enough room on the SD card. Menu>media management>media and title information>enter. Check free space. If you want to keep factory parameters, then follow the steps below. If you want to customize it for quality or environment, go to menu>recording settings>custom and adjust the parameters first If you have a recording and want to append to it, go to that title and press and release the record button. It will go into pause mode. Press the button again to start recording, press to pause, press the enter button to end. If you want to create a new title, and have no recordings, just press and release the record button. If you want to create a new title and have recordings, press and release the record button. Use the right arrow until it announces "new title" and goes into the pause mode. In the start of recording, after creating a title, you can enter an audio title that will be announced when you select the recording. The process is: Press the record button, speak your audio title, then press the record button again to pause. You have about 1/2 second to speak or it won't take. Example: It is announcing "auto" indicating automatic gain control is on and you're in the pause mode. Press the button, speak your topic, then press the button again. When ready to record your conference, just press the record button to start. Try it a few times to get the hang of it. To delete any recordings, go to the recording using your navigation, then menu>media management>delete the selected title>enter a second time to confirm.
