hi when my plextalk is completely powered off will it lose battery rapidly? or do people find power save is better?
Hi William, I think it sounds like you haven't quite understood the 2 states. Essentially, you will save more power if you turn the unit off completely. I believe that the only thing that is then using power is the internal clock. The point of the Power Save mode is to be more efficient than it would be if you left the unit switched on. The disadvantage of switching off completely is that it takes around 40 or 50 seconds to boot up again whereas from Power Save mode it is almost instant. Hence it is a case of "what you win on the swings, you lose on the roundabouts". If rapid use is important, then leave it turned on, if battery life is important, switch the unit off completely. If you want the in between option, go for Power Save mode. Hope that makes it clearer. One thing I've noticed with Plextalk Pocket is that the clock will hold time even if the battery is removed for a few days. Don't know how long it will go, but maybe it doesn't use the battery power at all but I have no idea of how it could hold time without using just a bit of power. Does anyone know? Thanks. Roger
HI Roger yes i've noticed that too! Terry Clasper. I also wunder how that work. I once took out the battery for more than a month, and when I put it back, the time was stil more or less correct. Very intresting. I want to try with the ptn2 but I don't always want to unscrew and rescrew the dam battery cover. Why they used a screw is so stupid.
