Audible Books on our plextalk equipment
Hi All, I was extremely frustrated when we learned in June that Audible Books would no longer be compatible with our Plextalk equipment. I have just successfully downloaded a file converter which will convert Audible file format into standard mp3 files suitable for playing on mp3 players, including Plextalk. The interface on the file converter is very simple and although the Audible file is one continuous audio file, the converter enables you to break it down into multiple mp3 files as ten minute blocks or, better still, as per the original, book chapters. If, like me, you use the PRS software, you can make a DAISY version also. The cost for a life time licence is about £27.00 or about £22.00 for a one year licence. The link for the software is copied below. http://www.epubor.com Regards, Steve
Hi Steve, Thanks for the information, this may prove very useful in due course. I'm glad to hear that you are still using your PRS software - you must have had great training from someone in the past!!! Hi, Definitely not legal to remove the DRM content from Audible so all this is done at your own risk. Is there any update on getting updated format access to the Pocket especially given the fact that the Victor readers have access to the later formats? I suspect all the specialist players will end up not being able to use Audible in the end but right now the Victor has the edge on the Pocket for this reason. Hi Andres, I share the message from Plextalk in Japan with you about audible: URL = http://www.plextalk.eu/en/20201006/ Audible books were available to play on PLEXTALK devices since 2011. As per July 15th 2020, Audible decided to discontinue the support for Format 4, known as extension .aa. Therefore PLEXTALK Pocket, Linio Pocket, PTN2 and PTX1/Linio will no longer being able to play audible content. We regret this action by Audible and realize that many PLEXTALK users can no longer use their favorite player to listen to the Audible content. Unfortunately it is technically not feasible to adapt the PLEXTALK devices for the enhanced format of Audible. I'm glad to hear that you are still using your PRS software - you must have had great training from someone in the past!!! The link for the software is copied below. http://www.epubor.com Regards, Steve _______________________________________________ Plextalk mailing list -- plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org To unsubscribe send an email to plextalk-leave@lists.hodgsonfamily.org _______________________________________________ Plextalk mailing list -- plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org To unsubscribe send an email to plextalk-leave@lists.hodgsonfamily.org _______________________________________________ Plextalk mailing list -- plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org To unsubscribe send an email to plextalk-leave@lists.hodgsonfamily.org _______________________________________________ Plextalk mailing list -- plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org To unsubscribe send an email to plextalk-leave@lists.hodgsonfamily.org _______________________________________________ Plextalk mailing list -- plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org To unsubscribe send an email to plextalk-leave@lists.hodgsonfamily.org _______________________________________________ Plextalk mailing list -- plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org To unsubscribe send an email to plextalk-leave@lists.hodgsonfamily.org _______________________________________________ Plextalk mailing list -- plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org To unsubscribe send an email to plextalk-leave@lists.hodgsonfamily.org _______________________________________________ Plextalk mailing list -- plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org To unsubscribe send an email to plextalk-leave@lists.hodgsonfamily.org
