what model is my plextalk?
My unit is somewhat larger than a cigarette pack. You can record on it and convert files to daisy. I don't know what the difference between the Plextalk pocket or the Plextalk PTR2. Recently, is there upgrades for the firmware or the software? I'd appreciate anyone giving me this information. Gary Patterson
Hi, sound like you have the pocket there. To make sure and find out wich model and firmware you got, press the menu key below the power key. The power key have too raced dots on it. Then left arrow to system settings and press pound/playstop/downarrow. Then press one of those keys again on the system properties item. It will then speak the name of your device, the serial number and firmware version repeatedly until you press enter again to exit the menu. If it says "ptp1" then you have the pocket. If it says "ptn2" then you got the larger player wich sounds unlikely according to your description. Let us no if you have furder issues. You also welcome to contact me personally if I could be of any furder help. On 23/05/2014, Gary Patterson <gpatterson002@mchsi.com> wrote:

Hi, sounds as you have one of the pocket units, not the PTR2. The PTR2 is a lot larger than a cigarette box. The PTR2 have a compactFlash (CF) slot, while the pocket units like the PTP1 only can read SD cards. And of course there are update files for different regions on the Plextalk support sites. So it depends where your unit comes from to install the right firmware update. Yours sincerely Arno
Hi Arno, My unit is the Plextalk pocket. I had a difficult time finding the user manual and tutorials. I think I have what I need. Many thanks to you.
