Hi. I have a little sony stereo mike for the plextalk two. But is there something else that I could get that would record more bass and, oh, I don't know the terms; but I'd like something that would do it better justice. Any ideas? Thank you. Penny pengold2@gmail.com
Penny, Look at the offerings from sound professionals The little Sony actually does a pretty good job for its price. However there are more expensive stereo microphones that also have this same 1/8 inch plug. If you want to make professional quality recordings you need to invest in a patch cord that splits this 1/8 inch connection into 2 XLR connectors. Then the sky is the limit. However most of the professional microphones will need microphone stands to support them and may require phantom power. For the phantom power you will need to also purchase a microphone mixer. If you want a specific recommendation tell us what it is that you wish to record and give us a price range. I haven't had an email from "Sound Professionals" for a good while. I used to be on their list. But I lost an email address there, some time ago. The sony mike I can get for about 50 dollars. I'd like something with that same 1/8 inch plug, is it? Something that would give a little more depth to music or separation, or both. I'd like a little more distance between my channels, as it were; and I'd like a little more bass. And, of course, it has to work nicely with the plextalk 2. If I can get that, price isn't much of a factor, as I can't imagine that something that would work well with the plex 2 would cost much more. So we'll say: Yes, price is a factor, but not much of one. I only make "living room" recordings of the church choir and other groups. Thanks for any recommendations. If you've got the number to sound professionals, I wouldn't mind that either, though, of course, I can look it up. Penny On 9/5/2016 7:37 PM, frank cuta wrote:

You can resubscribe by going out to their website. For better base try and find a condenser mic rather than a cheap dynamic. If you are looking at the sony stereo mic it should be pretty good. Of course the only way to get great seperation is with 2 microphones and this is possible with a patch cord that splits the eighth inch plug into to XLR connectors. Another thing to look at for increased seperation is a binorial mic. I picked up a cheap one from gadgets and guidelights for about $40. That reminds me I have yet to try it with my plextalk. Sound professionals also has some real nice ones.
