Hi, first off, go to plextalk site, then choose America as I think that is where Bob are, and then you can go to the ptn2 product page, and get it from there, otherwise, let me no and I can do a dropbox link for you. About the voices, I strongly doubt, since those require stronger hardware. That is one disadvantage of acapela. They are very resauces intensive. I am at the 2013 nfb convention. I met with a representative from Plextalk. He said next month, we will have a new firmware update for the pocket version 5.9. In V 5.9, we will have a much improved version of Nuance vocalizer called Nuance Automotive. I heard Samantha Tom was not working in this beta version. it sounded very very clear. I will record a sample and upload it before convention is over. Also, the speed control is redesigned and speeding up audio will sound much much better. Also, one can record in daisy 3 and epub documents are now supported. Other enhancets also coming. I will record a sample of the TTS today. Hey Bob and List, I would be glad to help you install the update when it comes out. Despite my earlier message, I don't think I will be able to record a sample of the higher quality vocalizer voices. I went by the Plextalk booth when exhibits were open right after morning general session. No one from Plextalk was there. I am not sure if they will be here for this last part of the convention. I will check again tonight when exhibits re-open at 7 PM. Sorry guys. Hope my previous message was helpful.

There is an update available for the ptn2, but not the pocket, unless if they refered to the linio ppocket.

Are you sure? AfaIk. the SDXC cards have the same strukture like the SDHC cards. There is no additional PIN etc. that needs new hardware. So I suppose the hosts are compatible, and it only needs a new firmware. Even if the speed right into the Pocket isn't ohnly SDHC maximum - I can feed the card on my PC with a high speed card writer. There's no real reason why it can't be made to read .brf files as the BookPort Plus can do it and it is exactly the same machine with a different name and a different guide voice. Also, the BookPort DT model will read .brf files directly as well. Roger On 7/5/2013 1:44 PM, Aidan Maher wrote:

I no that if you try to update the current version with another language, or at least stil English but just a different country, it don't work, but i'm not sure about updateing from this one to 5.9, we have to try, as I would love the austrailian version. John, I did email them in the past, they don't seem determan to add those, don't seem to be enough of a request. I don't no if that is true, but I agree with you, they can really add that. That is why I got the new Olympus ls14, as it goes higher in bitrate and feature a seprit line in jac and also wave or mp3 recording without daisy structure. However, the Bookport has the exclusive right to read those file types in the U.S. for Plextalk. There's no real reason why it can't be made to read .brf files as the BookPort Plus can do it and it is exactly the same machine with a different name and a different guide voice. Also, the BookPort DT model will read .brf files directly as well.

There is an update available for the ptn2, but not the pocket, unless if they refered to the linio ppocket.
