Does anyone know where I can get the Bluetooth device which works with the old Plextalk as mentioned by Arno? Thank you Arno for taking the time to give me your advice. Some of it I don’t understand as I am not too technical. In our car, there are multiple USB sockets. Most of them are for charging devices such as mobile phones. Two of the sockets on the front Control Panel are for inputting (line-in) audio signals. One of the two takes a standard mail USB plug and the other a smaller mail USB plug. As I said in my earlier message, using an inexpensive lead plugged into the Plex talk earphone (output) 3.5mm jack with a smaller male USB going into the Control Panel, the car doesn’t recognise the Plextalk. If it is the wrong type of connecting lead how may I identify what might be the correct one? Arno, I didn’t understand your reference to a microphone. Hi,
I read the question, but I can only guess what the problem might be. Was this your first attempt with the adapter, or has it already worked before? If you bought the adapter new, it could be that it doesn't meet the specifications. to connect to your audio systemThe adapter must be specifically designed for audio. An adapter for i. e. charging with electricity may not be able to transmit audio signals via the USB connector at all.
In addition I am not sure if the USB socket in your car is the propper place to receive the signal from your PTP. I suppose the USB socket of the sound system in your car is able to recognize i. e. a memory drive with MP3 files. That didn't mean it is able to receive an audio signal from a headphone socket.
So if the sound system in your car have a line-in socket - i. e. for a separate microphone - that should be the better solution.
Or if the sound system in your car is able to receive Bluetooth, you could buy a bluetooth transmitter for your DAISY player.
Long time ago somebody in this list offered such bluetooth devices for the headphone socket of the PTP1 etc.
Yours sincerely
Arno

I'm glad you and Arno sorted it.
Arno, did you see my query about not being able to connect my Plextalk Pocket to the car speaker system using the 3.5mm jack plug in the earphone socket with a USB at the other end? The car won't recognise the Pocket.

Well, Arno, turns out part of the AC-cord was not connected. Maybe the battery ran out. Once things were connected well, the unit powered up. Meanwhile for an extra insureance we purchased another unit on Ebay. Thanks for your analysis Chime
