AC Adapter: No battery installed, or when off AC, 'battery level 0%' .
Hi, Using PlexTalk Pocket 1. The messages in the subject line are what I get when I check the battery status. The machine appears to be working ok otherwise. I also hear the power-connect/disconnect sounds when it sees the supplied power unit. I have re-set the PlexTalk a few times, and still get the ‘no battery installed’ and ‘battery level 0%’ messages. Once or twice, since I noticed these messages today, I have got the ‘battery charge complete’ message. But I’m now back to the ‘no battery installed’. (It certainly is ‘installed’ physically. (Off AC, as previously indicated, it’s ‘battery level 0%.) What does this mean? Is it indicative of a failing power supply, a failing battery, or that the battery has just run low and needs to re-charge? (I’m listening to music and/or other radio programmes recorded on it, mostly on AC.)
Well Flor, as I've mentioned on this list, several months ago, I continually have similar issues. What I haven't narrowed down yet, are trying the power supply of the smaller BPP? I did get replacement batteries, which did not help. In my case the unit was rapidly going on-and-off AC, sometimes not even realizing it was connected. So, if you have a Book-Port, try its power supply on the PlexTalk. Hart
Larry, Since the problem first started, and If you ran it on battery for a while; How far down did you let it go in terms of percentage, and did it go back up again when you reconnected it to AC power? I'm wondering if mine is somehow just misreading itself? (Like the meter inside it just going off or something?) Or, has my battery decided that it can't cycle any more? -----Original Message----- From: Hart Larry Sent: Sunday, October 16, 2016 6:25 PM To: Plextalk User Discussion List Subject: Re: [Plextalk] AC Adapter: No battery installed, or when off AC, 'battery level 0%' . Well, Flor, no, since the battery never seems to charge enough, I wouldn't depend on it alone Hart
