Hi David Of course the other thing you could do with the PTX1 is reset the date to more than 3 years ago. I did not do this as I thought it would be confusing, but it would save you having to send the machine back. Pele West

Hi David Over the weekend this question came up on the Access-Uk List. Apparently, if you have bought the PTX1, RNIB will send you a disc with firmware on it to reset the service message, but if you rent it you have to send it back or set the system date to a long time ago. I believe it is a way of ensuring rented machines are serviced every 3 years. Pele West
