differences between the Plextalk Linio Pocket, and older models of the plextalk pocket
Hi all Have just been reading an article discussing the difference between the Plextalk Lineo Pocket and the new Victor Reader and have been wondering what the differences are between the Lineo and the older Plextalk Pocket models such as I have? Just curious. Perhaps someone can point me to some kind of comparison somewhere? Thanx in advance Andre
Well it doesn't look like the Plextalk Linio Pocket Is available in the US. I see it available in the UK and other European countries, but not US. The only differences I can see between it and the original pocket are that it has eight gig of internal memory and you can stream audio, but I think that's it. I believe the reason why the linio is available in Europe and not in the US is the lack of support for direct downloading of dasi material. I don't know if such files are really available in Europe, but they're quite a way from implementation here in the US. ----- Original Message ----- From: "kb7uengene" <kb7uengene@gmail.com> To: "Plextalk User Discussion List" <plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Friday, April 12, 2013 9:27 AM Subject: Re: [Plextalk] differences between the Plextalk Linio Pocket, and older models of the plextalk pocket

Hi Clifford, This is correct, the Linio Pocket is popular in countries where DAISY online services are available. This now the case in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Finland and will be soon available in other countries which are developing: Norway, Sweden, Switzerland. By DAISY online services, users can stream or download books from their bookshelf in de Library (avoid sending physical media) For use without DAISY online services, Linio Pocket has also strong improved TTS (Acapela), 8GB storage capacity, EPUB reading, Calendar function and PDF support (to come with next firmware update) On the European site you will find all relevant information about specs and functions: www.plextalk.eu Regards, Marc -----Original Message----- From: Plextalk [mailto:plextalk-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Clifford Blackwell Sent: zaterdag 13 april 2013 1:34 To: Plextalk User Discussion List Subject: Re: [Plextalk] differences between the Plextalk Linio Pocket, and older models of the plextalk pocket I believe the reason why the linio is available in Europe and not in the US is the lack of support for direct downloading of dasi material. i understand that current Plextalk Pocket can stream Web radio and podcasts, but I don't think it can stream newspapers, can it? Also it doesn't support PCM recording like the new player can, that would be a big plus. Does the new plex talk pocket have blue tooth capability. ----- Original Message ----- From: "kb7uengene" <kb7uengene@gmail.com> To: "Plextalk User Discussion List" <plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Friday, April 12, 2013 1:25 PM Subject: Re: [Plextalk] differences between the Plextalk Linio Pocket, and older models of the plextalk pocket
i understand that current Plextalk Pocket can stream Web radio and podcasts, but I don't think it can stream newspapers, can it? Also it doesn't support PCM recording like the new player can, that would be a big plus.

Hi all
Have just been reading an article discussing the difference between the Plextalk Lineo Pocket and the new Victor Reader and have been wondering what the differences are between the Lineo and the older Plextalk Pocket models such as I have? Just curious.
Perhaps someone can point me to some kind of comparison somewhere?
Thanx in advance
Andre

Using the UK firmware, I would not be able to read books from bard on it. I don't understand why Plextalk doesn't come out with US firmware and release it here in the States. -----Original Message----- From: Roger Stewart Sent: Friday, April 12, 2013 11:17 AM To: Plextalk User Discussion List Subject: Re: [Plextalk] differences between the Plextalk Linio Pocket, and older models of the plextalk pocket If it isn't, you could always find someone in the U K and send them the dough and they could buy it for you and ship it but I see no reason why it wouldn't be available here as well.
