Gary may have had a Stream 1st Generation. (We're now on the 2nd generation, which is a slightly different build - apparently). It will record continuously - I've recorded for more than 3 hours without intteruption - if Sleep Mode is not on, and it's connected to AC, and it also can be put there into a locked position (and then unlocked when the time is right). It's quite easy to knock off the recording switch. I cannot give details of dealers outside the UK, but Sight and Sound do the Linio and Humanware do the Stream.
