Hi I noticed something I have not seen before on my plextalk pocket before, on the bottom between the usb and ac socket is a kind of grill, what is this please, it is the first time I have seen it. Adrien
Hi Adrien, Regarding the grill, the manual doesn't mention it. It is my guess that it is to allow air to circulate in the battery compartment, in case it gets warm during recharge. Actually, it's not a grill, it's a collection of gold medal contacts. Maybe the Plextalk people were thinking originally that they would create a dock for charging and syncing, but decided against it after releasing the product. The other possibility is that it could be used for servicing and diagnostic purposes Gene On Nov 18, 2012, at 2:42 PM, "Thomas Lutes" <tlutes@bardstowncable.net> wrote: Hi Adrien, Regarding the grill, the manual doesn't mention it. Hi Tom Yes that's ok but mum says it looks like a docking station. Ok I have another question, I have been playing a book over the weekend, is there any way to jump back and forwards say 30 minutes at a time? If I want to go back I have to hold the left and right arrow and leave it until I get to perhaps 20 minutes, this can be a bit tedious. Also is there any way of knowing if the battery is fully charged? Five key report battery info. I don't think there is yet a way to jump so large except for rewind and forward. But you can jump buy ten minits with the ten minits option on the navigation menu, then just rewind or forward the rest of the way if its a smaller amount. Hi Adrian, I'm not absolutely sure that this is the best way but there is a form on the Plextalk website at the link below that can be used to send messages to the company. The website is at the following URL: http://www.plextalk.eu/en/top/contact/ I hope this is what you are looking for. Hi Adrian, The answers to your questions are as follows: 1. To move back or forward 30 minute chunks in your book, the easiest way is to select the 10 minute jump option from the Navigation Menu and then just press the Back or Forward keys 3 times. If you use the Up and Down keys when you are playing the book, you should get the 10 minute option along with a 30 second option and various other options for ways to navigate your book. 2. Check the battery level by pressing the No5 key (the one with the small bump on it). Your Pocket will announce various information but starting with the battery level. If you don't want to listen to all the rest of the information, just press the Play/Stop button. Also, make sure the unit is not connected to the mains at the time as it will just tell you that the battery is charging and won't give an indication of the current level f charge. Hope this helps, Jamie From: Plextalk [mailto:plextalk-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Adrien Collins Sent: 19 November 2012 15:31 To: 'Plextalk User Discussion List' Subject: Re: [Plextalk] question about my pocket Hi Tom Yes that's ok but mum says it looks like a docking station. hi again, Adrien, Well, I might have missed it last time but this one I can answer with confidence. Just press the "5" key on the number pad, when it is not expecting some input.
