Dear All, Apologies if you've already had this but I'm not sure that I have the correct address these days. Please may I ask which SD cards are not suitable for use with PTR1 Pocket and PTN2? I am currently looking to buying a couple more SD cards and have so far been successfully using ones with a capacity of up to 32GB. There are, however, so many different ones on the market now which make reference to the speeds at which they run and I have no idea how this affects the devices I am using. With thanks, Steve
Morning Steve, Hope you are well. This is definitely the correct address for the list. As for your question about the cards, 32GB is the maximum size that the Pocket will accept but, in regards to the speed question, I'm not entirely sure. My guess would be that they should all work but they may not work at their full capability if the Pocket isn't able to function that quickly. Hopefully someone from Plextor can give you a more specific answer. Hi all, Yes, the capacity for SD-cards is limited to SDHC, that is 32GB. However, for PTR1, one needs an adaptor, I have not come to an adaptor which supports SDHC cards, my experience is with a PCMCIA adaptor that supports max 1 GB cards. Also the addressing of higher capacity in PTR1 may be a problem due to older technology. Dear Marc, are you sure that the PTR1 will accept 1 GB SD cards only? If I remember correctly the PTR1 is able to use 2 GB SD cards, too. I tried 4 GB SD cards (in an additional CF-SD-card adaptor), but unfortunately without success. For PTP1 it should be possible to use SD cards larger than 32 GB appart from the SD card slot. I suppose there is the USB port, and this port also accepts cards with a capacity higher than 32 GB, too. Of course in an USB-SD-card-adaptor. Yours sincerely Arno Marc Van der Aa <marc.vanderaa@telenet.be> wrote:

Hi, I do apologise if I have confused you. I referred to my Pocket as a PTR1 when I should have said PTP1. I use SD cards on this device together with my larger PTN2. From what has been stated, I take it that the 32GB is the maximum capacity though I am still unsure about the terminology used on websites about the various cards available at this size, which I imagine is referring to how quickly they operate. As an aside I also have the older PTR1 with an adapter to take a CF card and for this I think the maximum capacity is 2GB. I hope this makes sense and that someone can clarify which 32Gb SD cards I should avoid. Hi Steve,
As an aside I also have the older PTR1 with an adapter to take a CF card and for this I think the maximum capacity is 2GB.
Yes, but only if you refer to an SD card pluged into an CF-to-SD-card adaptor, in a PCMCIA adaptor. The old PTR1 is able to use 32 GB CF cards in a PCMCIA-to-CF-card adaptor. It is only the SD-cards that can't be larger than 2 GB. Yours sincerely Arno
Hi My main query concerns the PTP Pocket and secondly the PTN2. Steve ----- Original Message ----- From: <arno.schuh@in-trier.de> To: "Plextalk User Discussion List" <plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Monday, March 07, 2022 5:16 PM Subject: [Plextalk] Re: SD Cards

Hi. In my experience I've had no problem with older devices running 32GB cards and they operate at the slower speed. I don't own a PTP1 though so can't verify. Thanks.
