I have created two Facebook groups. the first is Tech Makers. My objective with this group is to provide a convenient medium for people who are technology creators to discuss relevant topics and get feedback from peers. I hope that anyone who is interested in collaborating about tech topics will join and add others who might be interested in participating. The other group is Project Connect. the goal for this group is to provide a convenient medium for developers, admins, and others to discuss and share ideas about their projects. Sometimes, you have a project you are excited about, but you don't know how to get others on board with it. Other times, you might want some side project to work on, but you're not sure of what things other people are doing. I have encountered this problem much sooner than I thought. I cant seem to access this VCenter system using Vsphere 6. The error is: An unknown connection error occurred. (The client received an invalid response from the server. (The server committed a protocol violation. Any ideas? I've tried using the web UI but I cant seem to make any sehnse of it. I can find list boxes and a good fewbuttons. Once I moved to hosts and clusters. However, I cant get to the tree view for VM's. I'm in a bit of a bind. I need to provision two servers today. I have no idea what I'm going to do. Maybe I could connect using powershell? I must look into that. TO provision the servers, I first need to explore the data stores and networks on this cluster so I know where to put this VM. As someone here likes to say, I'm bunched! Any help very appreciated. Active Directory auditing

Does anyone know of a tool, native to Server 2012 or third party that would allow me to generate a basic logon/logoff report by user? My organization isn't really having any issue since we are very flexable with people using VPN connections and working from home. HIPAA compliance requires that we at least be able to pull a report when necessary. Any recommended tools out there? Thanks.

Active Directory auditing

Does anyone know of a tool, native to Server 2012 or third party that would allow me to generate a basic logon/logoff report by user? My organization isn't really having any issue since we are very flexable with people using VPN connections and working from home. HIPAA compliance requires that we at least be able to pull a report when necessary. Any recommended tools out there? Thanks.

Virtual machine network, conflict with screen readers

Hi there I have built a network of three virtual machines running on my home network, all on my laptop. Each vm has a static ip address and is running a separate application in a Ubuntu Linux environment, . Orca is enabled in each. My laptop is windows 7, running JAWS The virtual machines are bridged. JAWS is turned on when I am working inside the virtual machines. So I am getting feedback from both screen readers simultaneously. Problem 1 I wrote a .bat file to start up the machines automatically. echo Starting virtual machine . Press Enter pause "c:\Program Files\Oracle... the batch file is running successfully, and the machine starts up. But, I had expected the screen reader to read the echo command string. It doesn't. It does read out the c:\...etc line, however. How can I get the echo string to read out ? Problem 2 >From inside the virtual machine, There appears to be a conflict between screen readers. For example, while editing a file in the nano editor, Ctrl+x should exit the editor. However, this sometimes fails, and I get the audio feedback "There is nothing to select", as if JAWS has taken over from orca, and is trying to copy text.. Perhaps you guys have come across these "chesnuts" in the past, and can offer a solution. Thanks, Paul

speculating on Hyper-V containers and accessibility

Hi, Hopefully, considering Microsoft's new fantastic stance on the subject of accessibility, this new marvelous technology will be taken into account. I'd think it would work, because the application deployed in the container would more than likely be web applications. At the current moment, I've got all web sites on my IIS server deployed on one server, though I eventually want to make each site run under its own container to achieve even greater isolation. Do you folks see any potential issues with accessibility with screen readers? You think it's going to invoke the same nightmare that VDI does?

Hi all, I'm cramming for a Linux Cert this coming Monday and fancied a bit of relief from test questions, and The Urban Penguin playlist on Youtube. I grabbed a promo code & a monthly subscription for www.itpro.tv<http://www.itpro.tv> I can't get the videos to play though! I'm using NVDA under Windows and have tried Chrome, Firefox, IE. There's a bunch of unlabelled sliders but I think these are for rating the individual videos. I can skip back and forth from one video to another but they don't' auto-play. I believe the controls are in HTML5 as there's no embedded flash object being announced by NVDA. I've tried the IOS app, but when I go to play a video I'm asked to Link my Pro account. Tapping on Link Account does nothing, tapping/holding for the pass through gesture does nothing. Locating the button on the screen, turning VO off and tapping the area does nothing. Tapping on Continue Browsing in this screen on IOS however does work and returns me back to the topic list. IT Pro support have told me there is issues with the IOS side at the moment, which may be related. Maybe tapping Link doesn't' do anything and that's not an A11Y issue. However, I really want to get the videos to play some way or another. There's no option to Download the videos through a web browser only through the app, which of course brings up the Link issue. Has anyone gotten this service to work at all? Thanks, Barry.
