Spectrum Wave2 router and Sip?

Hello, I apologize for the multiple posting, but I'm hoping someone out there can help me. Does anyone have Spectrum as their internet provider? If so, do you have their newest Wave2 router? It's the RAC2V1A Arris (TR4400-AC). If all this is yes or you can help me anyway, I am trying to get out to my server and use asterisk. My internet server is cloud based and has a public IP address. My IP here is also public and maybe static I don't know it hasn't changed in a while, but the router see above gives out 192.x.x.x addresses as it should. Here's the question, the point to all this, I am trying to get sip going so I can do more than connect and disconnect and can actually here some audio. There's some passthrough options under advanced, > wan, > nat passthrough, I've got the relevant ones on they were on by default I dchanged them to off didn't make a difference so I returned them to the default values. My current theory and I'm not sure why this is needed with the passthrough is I have to forward a port range from the router to my phone, which has a dhcp-statically assigned ip address. How do you navigate that form? It is a nightmare and I don't know the values to put in it. Any help appreciated, if you think necessary please email privately. Thanks. Dave.

Hello Andrew, Thanks for your reply. In answer to your question, yes I've got wireless issues, some areas that have drop offs. That's why I was thinking mesh. How much did you pay for those orbis? Mesh Network, Raspberry Pi, IP Camera setup, Night Surveillance, suggestions needed

Hello, If anyone has any suggestions on mesh network products and setup, Raspberry Pi IP camera for surveillance setup, and integration please let me know. I'm needing some advice. My situation is this, I've got an area of my backyard that is needing to have an IP-based surveillance camera pointed at it to capture videos of any intruders. I've got several Raspberry Pis, and am wanting to use them in a video surveillance setup. My place has the cable modem and a router in the basement, then the main floor, then an upstairs area. I'm already thinking to support this setup of video surveillance I'm going to need to go mesh, put a wireless setup in each room I've got occational drops that I'm going to need to correct and thinking mesh might be the way. Once I get the mesh then going to get a Raspberry Pi camera and hook that to a pi then to an external drive for file storage. I'm thinking a 3 to 5 day rotation time, is this feasible? I'm also going to need a way to examine the files see if there's something other than blankness in them. Lastly, and this is a big one, i'd prefer not to break the bank on this. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks. Dave.

Microsoft Outlook for Windows hangs while switching to certain IMAP folders

Has anyone else experienced anything similar to the following with a recent Microsoft Outlook for Office 365 under Windows 10? How should I attempt to track it down further? If I move to any of a number of IMAP folders in the tree view containing the folder list, or if I use Ctrl-y to open a folder list and move focus to a desired folder, then I press enter to open that folder, Microsoft Outlook hangs (becomes unresponsive) and needs to be restarted. This happens when the folder is opened, not during the folder selection process. I haven’t been able to reproduce it with Microsoft Exchange folders via my work account. It appears to be an accessibility issue, in that shutting down the screen reader (either JAWS or NVDA), then opening the new folder, then re-enabling the screen reader works without hanging Outlook. As this implies, the problem can be reliably reproduced with both JAWS and NVDA, so I suspect a Microsoft issue. The server was upgraded recently (by me – it’s my own server hosted by Linode). Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 10 version 1809 have also seen recent upgrades, so it isn’t clear which change introduced the problem. All software is up to date, including the screen readers. Everything is fine in Microsoft Outlook for Mac and for iOS – it’s purely a Windows problem.

accidental delete of downloads directory, need to restore, urgent!

Hello, I don't usually cross post, so please forgive this posting. I need help quite urgently actually. I made a mistake and accidentally deleted my download directory in my user profile, this is on a win10 pro 64 machine. The download folder was highlighted and I hit delete, I wanted to delete another folder not downloads so I realized I was on the wrong folder, hit tab to no or what I thought was no and hit enter, as I did my machine shut down. It's having a heating problem that I'm going to partially address today and fully address with a new case. On reboot I found that download directory was gone. I need to get it back. It's been quite a while since I've had to do this, help! Any help appreciated. Thanks. Dave.

I'm about to graduate with an associates degree in network and computer admin. I do have a job working at in the datacenter/lab at a community college which is giving me tons of experience with little stress, but it doesn't pay the bills. Do any of you know of reciters, staffing agencies, or employers in the US that aren't afraid to work with blind people? I've got some certs and experience with mostly Linux and Cisco, as well as some Windows server.

From the one power shell window, issue commands to Azure, Office365, on prem exchange, VMWare, Hyper-V and lot's of other major systems. Do I need to say it again just to be sure? On... Your... Test.. System... Power shell is great but it's also dangerous. There's always that dread when running something that's touching a lot of data or files. So, please be careful. Or don't. One thing that you could try would be to create a JAWS dictionary rule for a space followed immediately by a dash that equates to some single syllable word that you'll know to mean a dash preceeding an option. Perhaps "xxxdash." If you try this, I'm interested in knowing how well it works. I really hate it when people respond to a really worth while question by saying somethin really meaningless and pointless like: "That's a great question" or "I would like an answer to this as well". But.. Urm... I'm going to do just that thing to you now. And to make it even worse, I'm going to write a really long pointless paragraph saying how sorry I am for doing that to you. The only way I have of reading powershell is by going character by character. The thing is with speech, it's either too much or too little. If for example, I write get-ADGroupMembership, I really don't need to know there's a dash there because, I know get is generally going to have a dash after. Power shell usually follows a convention in the command structure. So knowing there are two dashes isn't all that helpful. However, hearing the kind of brackets used would be nice. Also knowing if a pipe is provided would be nice too. But the problem is there are conventions in Power shell. To be really effective, the screen reader would need to be aware of these rules and intelligently give you the information you need to speak the punctuation on the line that is actually of value. So, unfortunately, although this is a very unhelpful and long response to your very interesting question, Braille or single character navigation might just be your best option. However, I'd like to touch on the Braille thing for a second. I love Braille. And I would use it when possible. However, it's probably just me, I certainly don't read as much as I should but having contracted Braille for commands / coding is often confusing. But computer Braille can be very long. Powershell commands are often stupidly long as well Take this example. Search for all the users in a group in active directory and find the proxy address property. That is done in just one line but it's quite lengthy. A 40 cell display just doesn't cut it. Again, it's probably just me and I'm being difficult about it but I just want to read that line. I might want to keep my finger on something at the start of the line Or I might want to go straight to the end of it. Panning is an irritation! But an 80 cell display is large and the sound of the clicking gets on my nerves. I just haven't found a really efficient way of reading code on a Braille display. Especially when that code has weird characters like !$()[]{}%^"'#~ etc. It's probably something I would get better at with time but meh. I have too much going on as it is without spending time teaching myself a new way of reading code that may or may not be more efficient than my current approach. I've been reading console windows like this for years. I'm reasonably okay with it. Sorry for my very long winded message but your question struck a chord. And although it's Sunday, I need to finish something for work and frankly, I'm putting it off because. Well, it's Sunday! I don't really want to do it today. Regards. Reading PowerShell code with JAWS

Hello all, I'm wondering if any of you have any tips for reading PowerShell with JAWS using speech. Here's the question that I sent to Vispero: I'm trying to use JAWS to review PowerShell code. Is there a way to have JAWS indicate a dash preceded by a space as different from a dash preceded by some other character when reading a line? For example, in this line: Add-NetEventPacketCaptureProvider -SessionName Session1 The first part could be understood as "Add-NetEventPacketCaptureProvider -SessionName" or "Add-NetEventPacketCaptureProvider-SessionName". Is there a way to have it read as "Add-NetEventPacketCaptureProvider space dash SessionName"? I recognize that Braille would be a good solution, but this needs to work with speech. In case you're interested, the Vispero representative first recommended setting the punctuation setting to all, then when I commented that this would not identify any space characters, the recommendation was to use the JAWS cursor to review character by character, with a note that a Braille display would be worth considering. Hopefully someone has found a different method better suited for reviewing lengthy code. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Chris

Hey Andrew, Firstly, thank you for your comments. Web interface is not important completely, because I'm an experienced user and can find some workaround. 3rd party app support is more important than web UI, I can use it for storing some apps as well. NAS storage experiences and recommendations?

Hello SysAdmins, Currendly I'm using a WD NAS unit; however due to security and performance reasons would like to change it as soon as possible. I have looked Synology NAS devices, they makes me excited. It seems that we can install Apache web server and many 3rd party apps to use on the LAN. Do you have any experience for Synology devices? 218+ seems well. Some users are installed Ubuntu and NextCloud to Western Digital NAS devices pro series PR2100/PR4100 and they said that performance and security problem nearly fixed with this combination. What do you recommend for me? Does the web interface and build-in software UI is accessible with screen readers on Synology? Thanks in advance.
