Thanks, I did download the demo and it will not install on Server 2003. I also tried reinstalling the OS in a RAID 1 configuration, as opposed to the RAID 0 I tried last time. The same thing happened. There are two 250gb drives in the array. Disk management reports the C partition as being 231.8gb, which would be correct (this being the "DM disk view in disk management). The properties of the C drive as reported by Windows Explorer shows the capacity as 5gb and I cannot use any of the rest of the space (226 or so GB). I found the drivers for the Dell 5ir controller on the support.dell.com site. I installed them with no difference. I could not find the ISO image of the latest Dell setup disk. After identifying it as a SC440 and a 5IR controller I don't see any links to disk images. I was thinking of installing the drivers onto a floppy and hitting F6 after booting from the Windows disk. How can I set up the drivers on the floppy or can I just copy the .exe files onto the floppy? Thanks for all of your suggestions. Disk manager also reports the Utility partition correctly as a 39mb ISA configuration partition. The Dell set up utility only seems to give me disk options to change from RAID 1 or 0 and the type of file system which I have selected NTFS both times. I wanted to try partion magic, however I went to www.partitionmagic.com and it said it only was for XP and Windows 2000. Is there a version that can be purchased for Windows 2003? I am really out of ideas on this and any would be appreciated. importing public self signed certificates via GPO

Hello, This might be a simple question, but googling hasn't revealed the answer. I've got a web server that uses ssl to protect areas. This ssl is enabled by a self signed certificate that i issued from my own CA. I can manually import the CA's public certificate in to each machine then each system will trust the site and not pop up a warning dialog box about an untrusted cert. What i was wondering is if it would be possible for a GPO to be able to distribute the public cert to all domain computers. Thanks. Dave.

stop 0xc2 message and accessible troubleshooting

Hello, I've got an xp machine, it's a dell-something running media center edition of xp. It's getting a BSOD stop error 0x000c2 which googling revealed was a kernel or memory driver issue. The machine will not boot normally and surprisingly not boot in safe mode. I'm going to start pulling memory chips, see if one of them is the cause, then clean out it's insides. If i have to go deeper in this are there any accessible troubleshooting environments, like a windows PE with accessibility such as sound enabled? Thanks. Dave.

avast4 home edition, submitting sample and possible root kit

Hello, My first question is is anyone using avast4 home edition on their workstations? I am and about ten minutes ago i got a pop up indicating a hidden rootkit was discovered by huristic means, i quarantined it and there was a checkbox to submit the sample. I kept it checked and hit ok. I didn't get any feedback indicating the sample had been sent or form to fill out for contact. Second question is how can i be sure this thing went in? It might be a false positive i'm not sure. My machine has been periodically slow on the internet for the past day or so, but that's infrequent and now that i'm thinking about it it might be either something or overreaction. Finally, what does everyone use for workstations for detecting rootkits? Thanks. Dave.

Andrew: I've tried it with Window-eyes, and it works, but badly. It basically sets up an XP VM, and you RDP into that with a special client. The virtual synnthesizer doesn't work so speech is sluggish, and Window-eyes doesn't pass commands through properly either.
