Hi, I've tried changing the password for sa. When I go into Security, select Log-In, and enter the new password, click OK I'm getting an error saying, " Change password failed for Login 'sa'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Express.Smo)" An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Express.ConnectionInfo)" " Cannot alter the login 'sa', because it does not exist or you do not have permission. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) (Microsoft SQL Server)" I need to connect to the server so I can change or enter a new password. Any thoughts? Andrew! We're in! OK. So let me get this straight. " localhost\WASPDBEXPRESS" is that the name of my server, but I can create different Databases in this Server? Hi, I've looked at the link. When I go into Config, network , there's just oen protocol listed. This is for a DB an asset management is using. According to the step-by-step I should see, "Protocols for SQLExpress option," This isn't here... The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. Hi folks, I'm back at this old chestnut. I've just installed SQL Express, but can't connect to the server. The Server is installed locally on my Win 7 box.
