Hello all, I would appreciate comments from anyone who has used any of the following security-related products. I am particularly interested in their accessibility or lack thereof and any workarounds that you had to develop to get things done. Links included for the curious. Nessus Scanner By Tenable: http://www.tenable.com/products/nessus Web interface works best using NVDA and Firefox; reports can be exported as csv. Have any of you used SQL 2014 yet? IF so, what's the accessibility like? I need access to the usual things. 1. Can I read the results of updates and inserts. 2. Can I read the result grid view from a select? 3. Can I read the job viewer results? 4. Can I start a job at a specific test? 5. Can I create users and logins? 6. Can I modify agents such as the Email service?

I need a few suggestions to get accessible connections to machines over Citrix. I've tried using RDP but the RDP windows aren't accessible. I get into the VM and the keys aren't passed through. I cant configure the RDP options to fix this because.... The RDP application isn't accessible. What's going on? Any ideas? I have a call in 3 hours from now and I'm badly stuck. They need answers and I cant access their servers.

Zenoss

Hi all, I've just had an interview for a role where part of my responsibilities will be dealing with Zenoss. Does anyone have any experience of its accessibility in terms of viewing alerts & general administration? They have a free version for personal use which I'll play with in due course but I was wondering if anyone uses their enterprise product. Regarding monitoring in general: the environment I'll hopefully be working in has a huge wall of monitors that gives an overview of the infrastructure & displays alerts when appropriate. The manager was (understandably) skeptical about how I'd be able to view alerts & the other output that Zenoss generates. I told him that I would most likely just use a Windows client or similar instead of using the wall. Does anyone do something similar? I notice that Zenoss has an API so if it makes the difference between me getting a job and not I'll just write something myself; he seems quite open to creative solutions to problems so there is some hope. Is www.blind-sysadmins.com gone for good? If the people who were involved in that are still on this list, we could put that stuff on www.iavit.org instead. We could also re-register blind-sysadmins.com and point it to www.iavit.org. Anyone using Sametime on a Mac?

Hi, so I’ve recently taken a new job and the company uses Sametime for messaging. I have used this before a long time ago but am having accessibility issues now where I can’t read what was sent to me. Has anyone used this package, especially on a Mac and have any ideas for things to adjust? I have enabled the accessibility features under preferences with no luck. Any ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks Scott
