Hello All, Sharing the below information that was passed to the Disability Answer Desk at Microsoft. We wanted to be sure you got this urgent information that will affect all ZoomText 10.1 plus and Window-Eyes 9.5 plus users. January 17, 2017: Urgent Notification Forthcoming Startup Failures in ZoomText 10.1 and other Ai Squared Software Products Problem The digital certificate used to certify newer ZoomText and Window-Eyes software products has been compromised. As a result, our certificate will be revoked on or around January 26th, which will result in startup failures for the following Ai Squared products. Affected Ai Squared Software Products When attempting to start the following Ai Squared software products, the product will fail to launch and display a Windows error message: "A referral was returned from the server" * ZoomText Magnifier v10.1 Build numbers 10.10.8 through 10.11.6 * ZoomText Magnifier/Reader v10.1 Build numbers 10.10.8 through 10.11.6 * ZoomText Fusion v10.1 Build numbers 10.11.1 through 10.11.5 * ZoomText Keyboard v4 Build numbers 4.0.0 and 4.1.0 * Window-Eyes v9.5 Build numbers 9.5.1 and 9.5.3 When attempting to start the following Ai Squared software products, the product may launch even though the certificate has been revoked. Anti-virus utilities may detect the invalid certificate and block the software from running. * ZoomText ImageReader v1.2 Build numbers 1.2.16106 * ZoomText Voices (language packs) v1.0 Build numbers 1.0.1.4693 * Vocalizer Expressive v1.3 (for Windows Eyes) Build numbers 1.3.0.13329 Note: Inspection of the certificate will show that the certificate is invalid. Inspection and validation of certificates is a process performed by some organizations. Solution (software updates) For each of the affected products, software updates incorporating a new digital signature will be released and available for download at this link http://www.aisquared.com/CertificateFix/<https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aisquar…> prior to January 26th. Warning When Disabling Security Options Ai Squared strongly recommends against disabling these security options. Various websites provide steps for disabling Windows security options with the expectation that unsigned software executables will start and run. Disabling these security options will not fix these problems for the ZoomText and Windows Eyes products and may compromise security and protection from malware. Conclusion We apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused you, but assure you we are doing everything possible to rectify this matter as soon as possible. Hello, Is anyone using letsencrypt for their CA for creating, managing, renewing certificates? If so, how do you like them? How do you find browser and mobile support? Have you had any issues or are there things I need to know that are not in the official docs for setup, configuration, and daily usage? Thanks. Dave.

Azure issues - Update from Microsoft.

Hello, Please find an update from Microsoft in relation to the Azure accessibility issues I reported in December. This looks promising but hopefully fixes will be released between now and March. Hi Darragh, I'm sorry that a response took so long. There were a lot of "out of office" replies in the month of December. For your issues.... 1. the link to add subnets and add Subnet gateway is not properly labelled. * This is an extension issue and is just now being assessed by the product group for being fixed. 2. It is no longer possible to select the location for your Azure resource. a grid might or might not appear but pressing space doesn't add the contents to the edit box. * This is a larger issue with grid and we are aware of this, the fix will go live in March 3. Sometimes Jaws gets stuck. During this time when pressing shift and E, instead of looking for the last edit field it's telling me I'm not in a table. * This is now logged and in the backlog. 4. Adding a site to site connection on the virtual network gateway. Unable to select a local network gateway. The blade appears blank. * This is an extension issue and is just now being assessed by the product group for being fixed. It is not an easy process. You'd really need to stay on top of it if you want some accommodations. In addition to studying the material you would need to always call them to make sure everything is as planned etc. I think about 8-9 years ago, I took my A+ and Network+ with a reader, passed no problem, but when things came down to Microsoft certs, the reader didn't show up, I was really bombed out, totally said forget it, I am not doing it any more. Maybe things have changed since, wish you good luck. It's like a joke for them, but for me, 3 month of Studying, many calls and on hold to confirm everything is on schedule as planned, finding baby sitter for the day, asking my wife to take a day off to take me to testing center an hour away because the closest one is not accessible "supposedly," and all they can say that the reader is not here, please reschedule. Oh, yes, please deal with refunding and ordering and paying for new cert/appointment on your own as well.
