Hi, Those options are not available on the store version funnily enough. I can update the click to run version fine, but don't seem to be able to do this via the store version. According to a couple of sites, updates for the store version come from the Windows store, so wonder if something is not publishing the update to the store? i have the same old version on both my machines with this issue. So I wanted to start a discussion to find out whether installing the Office 2016 from the store is a bad idea for screen reader users generally, if there are differences with updates to the store versions as opposed to the versions available by downloading the .Exe from the MS website, and if anyone has a good way of scripting the .Exe download and install. I should say that I have been using this method since around February 2018 and when iTunes got published to the store I am using that as well, I rebuild the systems fairly regularly. Andrew: From any office app, you can press alt+f for the file tab, and then find the option for office account. You can then tab through to the update options where you can see what your settings are and force an update to office, it will also tell you what subscription you're signed into. I'd make sure all that info is correct, but it definitely sounds like your version is out of date. Hi, The click to run tools don't use MSIs which is unfortunate. I checked the version I am using and I think this is the issue. It is version 1804 (Build 9226.2114) which according to the web was released in April 2018. I checked for updates both on the store and in Office itself and it all looks up to date so not sure if I can go beyond that on the current install or whether I need to install using the .Exe. Hi, Thanks. I'll check out those powerlines. As for Spectrum they no longer charge for modem rentals, they do however charge for their Wifi and router, which is the problem now. They use something called a wave2 which puts out great signal and has incredible band width, i'd like to get something equivalent to or better than this router preferably something that is dd-wrt supported. I will then add the powerlines to that type of setup. Router recommendations appreciated. Thanks. Dave. repeater not repeating

Hello, I've got an issue with a repeater router it's not repeating. My setup is a cable modem, going to an ISP-provided router, (I'll be getting rid of that and it's not relevant), and an Asus RTN66U running dd-wrt daisy chained on to the isp-provided router. To this setup I've got a multi-story home and want to add a repeater. So on the second floor I've got another Asus RTN66U also running dd-wrt that I'm trying to get to repeat the signal from the other router. On the second floor router i've turned on repeater-bridge mode in case I want to hook a client in via ethernet, and set wan connection type to disabled. Under security i've turned off everything as security should be handled by the primary router. I've also switched from AP to repeater-bridge. In the wireless configuration i'm eventually wanting to repeat both the 2.4 and 5GHZ signals, but for now am only trying to get the 2.4 going. All those settings match the primary router, SSID, channel, WPA2 key, etc. Currently I have an ethernet plugged in to the second router and am trying via wireless to obtain a dhcp address from the primary router which they should be talking. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. Dave.

Cheapest way to get a 2nd network connection

I am trying to help someone with a home office. She has a single ethernet port in this room where she made her office. But she wants to move her network printer into the room. So we need a second ethernet port. For now, I loaned her aa 5-port switch. It seems like overkill. I don't like wasting electricity. What I'd really like is something like a USB dongle that essentially serves as a hub. Something low power, small. Any ideas? If it was my own linux machine, I'd put in a 2nd ethernet card and enable packet forwarding in the kernel. But she wouldn't want me to mess with that. -- -- John G. Honestly I'd just get a consumer level switch and be done with it. If you wanted to go the DIY root I'm sure you could build something out of a Pi and a USB NIC but I'd be waying up the cost and time taken against how much power, if any it would actually save.
