Hi folks, No, not the Microsoft Database, cauf, cauf, the adaptive type... Are any of you currently using SCCM with any Screen Reader? if so how are you finding it? i used it's predecessor, SMS with JAWS. Some containers in the msc didn't read great. At least with 2003. Some folks in the company I worked for found a VB solution and I was able to access all controls that I needed for basic admin via the browser. Pushing software, checking add/remove inventory, system specs, other functions I can't recall. I may have a leed for the company I worked for and wondered if at least with this piece of technology it might be a goer. Thoughts? Regards, Barry.

Hi Barry, Did you contact ESET? They are very proud of their record for stamping on such things, and may well have something in the pipeline not yet released. If not, they'd certainly want to know about this. It's more about getting a working system back up and running now as I had servers configured etc on this Windows install. I have two images on external drives that I created using Image For Windows by Terabyte, but how do I restore these without sighted help? And even then with sighted help if it becomes necessary? Is there a boot disk for Image For Windows so I can get in and select the image files to restore, and if so how to I get this? i still have my seriel etc in a file on DropboxI need as close to step by step as you can manage. i will then take this information, collate it and create a document ont he blindsys admins web site. As we really need to have this sortive of thing documented. ,smiles> for Image For Windows. Had all updates installed, and was running Eset Smart Security, www.eset.com I said on Twitter today that I noticed TCp/IP ping requests triggering my Firewall. let's talk Backup Exec

Hey everyone: I just got a promotion at work, and with the goodness of a promotion comes more responsibilities. I'm now in charge of our backup infrastructure. We run Backup Exec 12.5, and have 16 or so media servers in various branch offices around the world. While Backup Exec used to be very accessible, over the last two versions accessibility seems to have gone into something of a decline, I already use scripts just to read the main table of jobs, and might need more just to get around the scheduling window so I can actually schedule a job. I'd consider the rest of the program accessible but clunky, tabbing doesn't always bring you where you think it will, on some screens tab order seems to be dynamic. Backup Exec also has an odd way of bringing up alert windows and grabbing your focus, even when you tell it specifically not to. While clunkyness is OK on one server, when you have fifteen individual servers to manage and no way to do it in a centralized fashion clunkyness is less acceptable. This is also less than a quarter of my new responsibilities as well. The current admin has the remote desktop console setup with all the Backup Exec servers in his favorites, stays logged into each server with a Backup Exec window open, and flicks from screen to screen and can easily glance at the output from each job. For us screen reader users, that doesn't work well. I've already got e-mail alerts set up and am using some Outlook rules to sort failure jobs out from successes, but was wondering if there's anything else I can be doing? I'd think people in really large environments with hundreds of media servers aren't logging into each server on a daily basis, so there has to be better ways to handle this. Any ideas? Thanks. Ryan

facebook hacking app

Hello, Do we have any facebook users on this list? I've been hearing something twice these past week that there's an app maybe a phone based one Android or IOS based or maybe on the computer where a facebook account can be hacked despite the password. I don't know of such an app and doubt there would be one, but I've been hearing about it. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks. Dave.

grml or vinux for laptop backup

Hello, I've got a laptop here running xp home sp3, that it's owner in a fit of cleaning files deleted something that seriously corrupted windows. It hits the xp logo screen and freezes. It will not boot in safe mode or last known good configuration, gives the same results, I'm assuming the owner nuked something out of the windows directory or let an uninstallation program remove something that he shouldn't have done. I have his original disk and will be reinstalling the OS, since a repair of the system didn't work either. I've got to deal with data backups though and these will be filenames with windows naming conventions. He knows he needs his profile area backed up, but I'm going to do a complete system backup. The machine has a wireless card and I've got a network attached hard disk to receive the backup data, but I'm not sure of whether I should use something like grml or vinux to do the backup. Restiration of profile files will be done from the reinstalled and working windows. So my questions are vinux or grml? And one of them hopefully has a utility that'll read and backup ntfs in a format that a windows reinstalled box can read. Suggestions welcome. Thanks. Dave.
