Remote monitoring of systems/on call work

Hi, Very quiet here at the moment, and there are plenty of members. Just kicking off a topic which I have had to deal with recently. Has anyone used any remote monitoring/diagnostic software, that if a specific problem (possibly using an API to communicate with a bespoke application to trigger events) occurs, that it will email or send an alert? How successful have these been? The other issue, have any of you worked any on call system, and if so, how did you arrange transport to work if required? I am trying to avoid it now, but we may have to go down this road, using remote VPN where possible. Thanks. Andrew.

Hi all, It has been quiet in here. Could someone please explain how accessible working in a novell environment is from a blind administrators point of view? My employer is considering putting me in a project where novel and zenworks administration needed to be done. Hope someone can shed a bit of light on this. unattended xp using NLite with jaws

Hi everybody, I'm new to the list so don't know if this has been covered previously. Has anyone on the list had success creating an unattended xp cd incorporating drivers using NLite? I've tried numerous times but still haven't managed it, even given some sighted assistance. The two areas it's failed on are formatting and driver integration. As far as formating the partition goes I can't find the option, and as far as driver integration goes although I checked the box for driver inclusion, and told NLite where the folder with the drivers was it wouldn't seem to have incorporated them in the cd. If anyone knows of a more successful way of making a fully functional unattended xp installation cd let me know. John.

Trend Micro and gmail

Hey all. Does anyone had a chance to work with trend micro server edition? Currently here where i work we have the problem that trend micro for some reason resets pop.gmail.com server to 127.0.01 on the local machines which run trend micro client. It technically works with more phones than what the Blackberry website is listing, so check your service provider to make sure that it's supported. http://www.blackberry.com/ap/products/connect/symbianOS.shtml The OS on the N91 is "Symbian OS v9.1, Series 60UI 3rd Edition." ~Joe Sorry about any confusion yesterday. I was in meetings all day, and was checking email with my Blackberry handheld. It's not condusive to writing long or well thought out replies due to the lack of speech output or tiny thumb board. But it's portable, and works [with some effort] when typing short replies.

I am happy to have stumbled across this list. I am looking for accessible remote control software. I don't have the ability to install Jaws on every computer I touch, so any help would be appreciated. I used Jaws and Window eyes for access. Thanks in advance, Greg Bobo

Accessible lan messaging client

Hey all. I'm looking for some accessible messaging client which supports comunication thru private network because i need it for comunication inside the company between the employers ... something like direct comunication from computer to computer. One option is to setup something like windows messsenger or skype but as i said, i would like to disable usage of comunication thru internet if possible. I know for one client called winmessenger which allows the user to see all the computers inside private network as well as chat comunication but it didn't show up to accessible so i'm looking for something similar. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks Mario

Vista ultimate/business downgrade rights/Generic SATA driver

Hello list, Has anyone ever used the vista downgrade rights before? How does that work? Also, I have a Toshiba laptop with vista business and I want to downgrade it to XP pro. Toshiba does not provide an XP sata installation driver. Is there a generic sata driver I can use so that the XP install will recognize the sata controller/hard drive? Thanks again, /David?
