I just installed and ran CrystalDiskInfo and found it to be screen reader accessible. It reads the SMART data from your hard drive or SSD and reports any drive errors - see my output below. After running the Memory Diagnostic again last week, the system appears to have crashed, then rebooted, reporting drive errors that it “fixed” by returning to a restore point when the repair operation failed. I plan to install Linux on this machine, possibly in a dual-boot configuration, but I want to identify and detect any hardware issue first. Are there additional tools, preferably screen reader accessible, that I could run either under Linux (e.g., a GRML or Arch installation image written to a USB device) or Microsoft Windows that would help to identify the underlying problem – whether it’s a RAM module, the system board, the SSD, etc.? Quick assist with screen reader?

Windows 10 has a built-in feature to give remote assistance called Quick Assist. Has anybody used this with NVDA or JAWS? I am able to connect to the other person’s computer, but I can’t seem to actually control it. When I do something such as hitting the Windows key, the start menu is opened on my computer, not there’s. If they do something, neither JAWS or NVDA reads the output. As you may know, Skype for business is a rebranding of the older Lync software. Does anyone have experience of its accessibility and any additional steps one must take to enhance the usability of this? Service now - is it as usable as it could be with a screen reader

Hi, I have just started using Service Now as part of my new job. i am mainly raising change control items, and adding to tickets. I am finding it a slog to use with JFW and Chrome/Firefox. It is very unclear when fields are read only, there seems to be non-standard combo boxes on the fields, and I am often shunted around on the page for no reason. Is anyone else having similar experiences? i don't know to what extent the system is customisable by the company, even though it is hosted by Service Now. Thanks. Andrew.

hexadecimal in braille?

How is hex indicated in braille? Constantly having to escape strings of digits and letters with the number and letter signs sounds super bulky. I know 8 dot braille uses dropped numbers, but that would make letters and digits harder to discern.
