The Postconf command is idempotent so it can be safely added to a script which may get ran several times. I don't run my own email anymore, its handled by M365 and this list sends out emails via that service as a smarthost which works surprisingly well.
I might consider that approach in the future for mine. The difference is: if I send a message via Microsoft 365, and the Microsoft 365 server is on a block list, the messages bounces, but I can resend it and a different Microsoft 365 server (not on the block list) will likely deliver it. I've been in this scenario. As I only have one self-hosted server, I can't do the same, and I don't want to pay for multiple servers unless there are other good reasons.
