Hello, Do any of you have a method of testing the impact in terms of CPU, Disk and RAM usage when restarting an IIS app pool or the W3W service / a process within this service? I need to form an argument against restarting an app pool every hour. I know why this isn't a good idea but I need to quantify it. Thanks

problems with teraterm over RDP after window-eyes 9.0 upgrade

sorry for the last version of this message, it was a tad rushhed. Good afternoon, since upgrading to window-eyes 9.0 I can not get teraterm to work over RDP with windows on both the remote and host computers, teraterm will not speak the Linux command prompt. if the remote is running win XP and remote windows 7 with window-eyes 9, all works well, it is only when both machines are on W7 things stop working, nothing is spoken and the mouse and window-eyes cursors say nothing. apart from using windows XP does any one have any suggestions? thanking you in advance Iaen Cordell.

Good afternoon, since upgrading to windows 9 I can not get teraterm to work over RDP with windows on both the remote and host computers. if the remote is running win XP and remote windows 7 still with windows eyes 9, all works well, it is only when both machines are on W7. apart from using windows XP does anyione have any suggestions? thanking you in advance Iaen Cordell.

Packet capture tools

Hi all. Anyone on the list who feels that they are an expert with packet captures? I have many many questions to ask. Such as extracting specific data, identifying out-of-order packets, delay, jitter, extracting only specific header info, and so on. I am using Tshark and TCPdump. The GUIO of Wireshark isn’t that friendly. Thus CLI is what I am using. Sean

Hey everyone. someone has started a petition on microsoft's own windows 10 forum to add a fully functional screen reader to windows. If the petition gets enough votes, microsoft will consider it as an addition to windows 10. Please sign in and spred it around as much as possible. screen reader ratings

All, I've put together a rudimentary screen reader rating page. http://www.iavit.org/~john/screenreaders/ It was triggered by the different comments on this list about the quality of different screen readers. There seems to be some disagreement about the capabilities of the different screen readers. I am hoping to collect all the pluses and minuses of each screen reader and end up with a overall rating for each. I threw together some very preliminary numbers. I don't feel that I know enough about each screen reader to actually rate them. So I put a feedback link at the bottom of the page. Any/all corrections are appreciated but please do include the rationale for your opinions.

This is pure speculation on my part, but Microsoft appears to be very close since the agreement in place to have a free version of Window-Eyes with a valid installation of MS Office. I believe Microsoft did this when they included an anti-virus solution with their OS, they just obtained it from a company that already had one in place.
