Anyone got a good starter resource for learning either of the three versions of WS out there--2003, 2008, or the new 2012--either free or on the cheap? I don't know if I'm quite ready for a five-day Microsoft course, and I surely don't have five-day Microsoft course money, but the title of a good thirty-five-dollar book would not go unappreciated. TIA

Domain Wide Password Policies

Hi all, Just a quicky: is there any way, other than an MMC snap-in or from a domain controller's administrative tools, to set criteria for a domain-wide password policy? Ideally a command line tool with an answerfile would be amazing! Sorry I haven't contributed much to the list; not really my field yet and the stuff you guys talk about is often over my head. Which antivirus do you find the most accessible

Hy. I remember the days when about 10 years ago we could choose from diferent tools for antivirus, from basic to very advanced one, and almost all of them were accessible. However, today the situation doesn’t look nice at all with new versions coming out which are becoming more and more inaccessible. If we exclude ms security essentials which could be ok for home user, wich tool do you find the most accessible and usable with screen readers? Thanks for the answer Mario

Hello, I'm looking for a Windows network scanner that is screen reader friendly, free/open source prefered. I've tried on a recommendation one called Advanced IP Network Scanner, tried that with both jfw and NVDA and I couldn't get anything out of it with either screen reader. My thinking was it is a qt application, which NVDA in my experience does much better with. Well, it wasn't. I'm wondering if it is a great graphic. Suggestions welcome. Thanks. Dave.

Jet Direct boxes

Hello, Has anyone dealt with Jet Direct boxes? I've got a few of them and wanting to hook up some printers to them. I've downloaded the Jetadmin software v10.x from HP and installed it on one machine, so I can configure the jet direct box. I've got the jet direct box hooked in to my network's router. After a painful install, I mean this one was rough, it was installed, I ran it, and after looking around apparently it does see the jet direct box as an IP address. I've hooked in a printer, it's either an HP 4m or 4mp printer don't remember which one I grabbed, and I want to set it up. Now I have to apparently configure the printer device before I can set it up as a network available printer. That's where I'm stuck, configuration at least from here is not accessible. Has anyone got this going? Is there a commandline way of doing this or did I miss a step? Thanks. Dave.
