GOod afternoon, I AM very glad, that i can read somethink about using remote desktop with screen reader. Please, is there any tutorial about this how to work with this feature with screen reader? How to start remote desktop in WIndows 7 operating system? Jaws is using Tandem, but i expect, that this feature is usable only if other user is also having Jaws awith Tandem application and The best is also The same version of Jaws. Team wiever is not accessible while triing to browse The remote computer screen. Any link to some tutorial or kind message about is is very welcomed. Thank You very much. Good afternoon, I would like to also inform You, that Vmwareplayer for Windows is supporting very excellent fully unattended feature. It is very simple to fill out all required information and original CDS can be perfectly installed to The virtual machines created by Vmware foR Windows. It is even possible to run those virtual machines from some Linux live CDS. Or by using some Linux live bootable USB stick. The disadvantage of this procedure is The need of big amount of RAM awailable, and, and this is very sad, user can not access The other harddrive than The virtual harddrive, YOu can not access NTFS internal harddrive and use my computer or Windows Explorer for files browsing. Vmware player will always prevent You from directly accessing The internal harddrives. To be more exact. You can for example use Ubuntu live CD and remastersys for creating remastered Ubuntu with Vmwareplayer on it. You can use external USB harddrive and You can put previously created virtual machine files, which have been created previously by using Vmwareplayer for Windows. The issue is, that if virtual machine will be successfully loaded, if You will use bootable USB flashdisk for loading Linux live system with preinstalled vmwareplayer for Linux on it, YOu will be able to run Windows XP virtual machine from USB harddrive by using Yours loaded bootable USB Linux live CD. You can even specifi on Vmwareplayer for Linux, that You want to share The whole root folder of Your NTFS harddrive with WIndows files on it. Yes, this will work, but Windows XP will recognize this device like a network drive, and You must use Linux live CD with NTFS-3G support to access NTFs volumes by using running Windows in virtual machine. The advantage is, that You can use WIndows Explorer for browsing NTFS volumes, The disadvantage is, that You will still USE Linux NTFS-3G for accessing NTFS, by The other words, WIndows core will not directly access Your harddrive. This is sad, because You can not use MIcrosoft disk defrag, or You can not use chkdsk /f /r c: command. Because disk is seen by WIndows XP like a network drive. If You will disable this feature in Vmwareplayer for Linux, so The folder will not be see like a network drive, YOu will not be able to see The drive on Windows at all. The advantages of Vmware solution. Theoretically, visually impaired user would run previously preinstalled Windows operating system by using many various computers, because Linux and Vmwareplayer for Linux will autodetect The required hardware. So if sound will be awailable in The Linux live distro with vmwareplayer, Windows will very probably work. Next advantage is, that user can browse The NTFS drive by using my computer or windows Explorer, can copy The files between NTFS folders from running WIndows. Disadvantages. The best results will be awailable while using computer equipped with modern CPU, which is supporting The virtualisation technology. There is also The issue with RAM and that You can not simply add Vmware related big files to The Linux live CD and simply compress it to The squashfs file system. Only while running it by using external USB harddrive, not USB flash drive, or by using IDE or sata harddisk will produce usable environment. If on future will exist some virtualisation solution which will enable users to access internal harddrives without using filesharing feature of Vmware, it will very probably be a next revolution. Ofcourse, there is licensing issue, but this can be solved. Linux live distros are able to autodetecd many various sound carts. Windows7 is including support for many sound carts, but if Microsoft will not allow us to officially use those drivers also by using Windows Pe, it will be only our dream. Wine is also not The solution, screnn reader can not interact with several applications running by using Wine. -- Mgr. Janusz Chmiel

Dear users, I would like to provide You The download link for JudeuSB Wizard. IT is very sad, that integrated .exe application, which is displaiing The start menu is not supporting The keyboard shortcuts. The Tieman USB braille Voyager device driver is perfectly working in this environment. NVDA can be really started without error message and even NVDA shortcut for displaiing menu is accessible, also dialog windows created by using Wxpython Unicode are working perfectly. The task would be to please MR Jaunty Lovel, so he would modifi The source code of his application for creating start menu so keyboard shortcuts would be awailable for us. Next task would be try to run Brltty for Windows as a service, sure also place the needed Braille Python bingings so NVDA would communicate with Brltty for Windows. I think, that also special USB filters would be installed. Drivers can be added during The creation process of bootable USB. User must also download Microsoft Windows AIK. But everythink would work. Windows XP live CD with sound support again

Dear members of this conference, I would like to inform You about The possibility for creating Windows XP live CD. I have been also tried The WIN PE based on WIndows Vista core, i have tested excellent tool for sighted users named JUDE USB wizard. Unfortunately, sound support is not included in WIndows PE based on WIndows Vista, and i think, that sound support will not be awailable also while using WIndows PE based on Windows 7 kernel. But there is other choice. Using Windows XP and Bardspe and, and this is very important, try to use The following project. It is awailable on The following address. http://www.llanelly.com/downloads.html If You will download The following .zip archive http://www.llanelly.com/downloads/file/11-xpebuilder.html And if You will finish The installation, You will find The file msaudio.inf in The following folder: \XPEBuilder\Plugin\300_drivers\oem-ms-drivers The task is, where to add .inf and .sys drivers, on which folder? And if it is simply possible to add new device driver to The msaudio.inf file. NVDA latest development and all released version are fully compatible with Windows PE environment, there is also braille device directly supported by NVDA without need to installing it's driver. So if somebody would have The time, I AM suggesting to integrate some sound driver to The .inf file from The XPE Builder v0.1.0.146 project. There are many various preconfigured and preinstalled plugins, i AM only wondering, if visually impaired users will be able to use included alternative shell. Powermenu is perfectly accessible, it's whole start menu, so this would be a perfect shell alternative, which would be used in The resulted XP live media. There is also ammazing solution, visually impaired system administrator could buy The USB sound cart, which can be detected by WIndows XP and this driver could be incorporated to The resulted WIndows XP live CD. Because integrating many sound drivers would consume many space and i AM afraid, that algorithms for searching The sound hardware and triing to include so many drivers would break The load process of The live environment. Brltty will not be easy to integrate, because services feature is not simply to setup in live mode. -- Mgr. Janusz Chmiel

U might find either autohotkey or autoit more useful. I think both have macro recording facilities. Mouse commands

Hi all, The company I am working for has implimented a new release of the service support tool we're using. I can use80 % of this webbased application, the other 20 is useless because there are some commands I can only process with a mouse click. Is there a tool which can help me record the mouse movements and clicks with a sighted co-worker, and let me reproduce those actions by pressing a keystroke? I've looked at jfw hotspotclicker, although that seems a bit complicated to me. I hope to hear from one of yours. All the best, Vincent.

RDP over VPN

Hello, I'm back with more questions. I want to run remote desktop connection over VPN for security reasons. I use xp PRO sp3 as a controlled system and Windows7 PRO as a controlling system. I successfully establish VPN connection between the machines. I have using of default gateway on the controlled system disabled so I am able to use internet on the controlling system. Here comes my question. When I initiate RDC, How can I be sure that the remote connection is running through the VPN channel and is not exposed on packet sniffing? Is there a way to check this? jaws in full screen command window?

I submitted a bug report to Freedom Scientific regarding the behaviour of jaws in a full-screen command window. The problem is that if you make a command window full screen by pressing Alt+Enter, jaws cannot read the text. AFAK, this has been the case since jaws 9. And it is a problem I've seen in jaws 11 and 12. But Freedom Scientific tech support tells me that they can't reproduce the bug. Can anyone confirm this bug? Or does jaws work in a full screen command window for you? To try to duplicate my problem, do the following: 1. Open a run dialog box by pressing Windows+r. Enter "command" into the box and press enter. 2. When the command window opens, press Alt+Enter to make the window full screen. 3. Check if jaws can read the screen by typing a command like dir or helpYour keystrokes will be echoed but, in my experience, the text displayed by these commands is not read and there is no way to get jaws to read it.
