U might find either autohotkey or autoit more useful. I think both have macro recording facilities. Mouse commands

Hi all, The company I am working for has implimented a new release of the service support tool we're using. I can use80 % of this webbased application, the other 20 is useless because there are some commands I can only process with a mouse click. Is there a tool which can help me record the mouse movements and clicks with a sighted co-worker, and let me reproduce those actions by pressing a keystroke? I've looked at jfw hotspotclicker, although that seems a bit complicated to me. I hope to hear from one of yours. All the best, Vincent.

RDP over VPN

Hello, I'm back with more questions. I want to run remote desktop connection over VPN for security reasons. I use xp PRO sp3 as a controlled system and Windows7 PRO as a controlling system. I successfully establish VPN connection between the machines. I have using of default gateway on the controlled system disabled so I am able to use internet on the controlling system. Here comes my question. When I initiate RDC, How can I be sure that the remote connection is running through the VPN channel and is not exposed on packet sniffing? Is there a way to check this? jaws in full screen command window?

I submitted a bug report to Freedom Scientific regarding the behaviour of jaws in a full-screen command window. The problem is that if you make a command window full screen by pressing Alt+Enter, jaws cannot read the text. AFAK, this has been the case since jaws 9. And it is a problem I've seen in jaws 11 and 12. But Freedom Scientific tech support tells me that they can't reproduce the bug. Can anyone confirm this bug? Or does jaws work in a full screen command window for you? To try to duplicate my problem, do the following: 1. Open a run dialog box by pressing Windows+r. Enter "command" into the box and press enter. 2. When the command window opens, press Alt+Enter to make the window full screen. 3. Check if jaws can read the screen by typing a command like dir or helpYour keystrokes will be echoed but, in my experience, the text displayed by these commands is not read and there is no way to get jaws to read it.

deployment of an image to different systems?

Hi Listers, I've been pondering about this question for sometime, and would really like to know how, as a blind-sysadmin you accomplish such a thing. given the following scenario, you have a server with an image which you must deploy to a number of computers, how do you go about doing it? Also, would the process differ, if you were deploying a windows or linux image? I know the regular sighted people could do the following: 1. boot to a pre-environment with network support so that they could access the image from the server and restore it to the system. 2. Use PXE or something like that, where the computer which will get the image, boots from the network card to the server where the image is then accessed. not sure exactly on this one as I'm no sysadmin, but merely just someone trying to learn. I know about deploying applications through sccm since I've heard Daragh's podcast on the deployment of jaws. Thanks for reading, and any reply on how you manage to do such things would really be welcome as I'm such a newbe, it is one of my dreams to learn how sysadmins do the things they do. Regards,

Hi Vincent. Unless you have the money to pay $200 for JAWS Professional as well as $200 for the Remote Access option, go for Window-Eyes. The RDP support is available at no additional charge. Even demo versions have this feature available. Take care. unattended install of server 2008?

Hello, Does anyone have a tutorial or procedure for an unattended install of server 2008? Also, how would one unattendedly enable sound? In server 03 I never got sound going without assistance, I'm hoping this issue has a fix in 08. Thanks. Dave.
