More on the aerohives, not so bad and pretty accessible

Hi, so I posted a while ago about Aerohives and wondered if anyone had used their products. For what it's worth, I just deployed 8 access points and a hive manager with out to much trouble and no eyeballs required. The manager is web based but the web content is pretty simple and JFW 10 doesn't have any issues. The access points themselves use a standard serial cable for console access and have an IOS like command line interface. (not IOS but sort of similar) You get all sorts of configurable features and while the configuration flow is a little screwy it's not totally illogical. If you need a wireless infrastructure and need accessible devices aerohive might be for you. Also, the support is very responsive. Thanks Scott

HI All, Anyone work with Aerohive devices and can give me some pointers? I'm trying to create a new SSID and as simple as that sounds it's pretty damn tricky. The interface seems more or less accessible but there's so much pointing and clicking I'm sort of lost. Anyone have any experience here? Thanks Scott

Active Directory management tools on Windows 7

Hi all, Not sure whether this is an MMC thing, but a lot of the new admin tools on Windows 7 are having a small issue in the tree view, whereby when you arrow through it, the information that Jaws speaks is not updated. I am going to try WindowEyes with this at some point when I get home, I am doing the bulk of the upgrades here at work at the moment as I have just upgraded the AD environment to Windows Server 2008 R2, and am using the remote administration tool pack to do the bulk of the upgrade work. Yes, you can back up their email to a share and then copy it back into their sent items when their Exchange account is added to their profile. It is simple to do on a user by user basis but if you have a hih number of users you may need to devise an automated means of doing the same.
