accessible windows pre-execution environment

Hello, I'm trying to clean off a laptop that has been infected with a trojan. It's an xp machine, and the trojan has replaced the lsass.exe program along with another .dll file in the windows\system32 directory. I was wondering if anyone had either an accessible copy of WinPE or BartPE environment or a way i could make it work with speech? Or, any other alternatives, a reinstall is not an option for this situation. Thanks. Dave.

You can add a driver directory to the Bart PE environment. If I can find a USB headset. I will try to make an disk image. Angelo Sonnesso M.A. M.S. Add NIC and Drive Controller support for virtually every piece of hardware under the sun to your BartPE CD, here's how: First, get the latest collection of drivers from the DriverPacks project.(http://www.driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/) Download the LAN DriverPack and unpack it into the Drivers\Net folder in your PEBuilder directory. Download the MassStorage Driverack and unpack it into the Drivers\SCSI folder in your PEBuilder directory. There are a few drivers that have .inf files with quirks that cause errors and warnings when building your disk. To fix the issues, find the folders that seem to have missing files buy browsing the error log. Most of the missing file errors can be corrected by making a copy of a file already in the driver directory and renaming it. (For example, there are numerous instances looking for bdco1ins.dll and the actual file is named bdco1.dll.) The remaining missing files are ide/atapi related and can be fixed by copying files from your windows\system32\drivers directory, or extracting them from cabs. Once completed, PEBuilder will automatically incorporate all of these drivers into your build, giving access to virtually all hardware in existence! I'd be very interested in such a talking bootable environment as well, a lot of tools are moving or have moved from dos boot disks to Windows PE boot disks. memory ram configuration?

hello friends: please need a reason for this problem, i've an asus p4 533-x mother board, and 1.7 mhz intel celeron cpu. i got 2 ram sticks, each one 512MB, both of 2 ram, and its soquts are working. but when installing both rams, my pc not work, why? any help well be appreciated. ibraam

vmware overview

My department bought 2 Sun servers and an ISCSI array. We've installed esx on both machines nad set up a 3rd machine as a vmwarevirtual center server. What next? My opinion is that we would want to set up a cluster and install Solaris on the cluster. But my co-worker has already installed solaris as a virtual machine on one of the Sun servers. Doesn't that mean we have lost the flexability we'd get from having a cluster?

help and support and runas with jfw9?

Hello, Using jfw9, and wondering if there any shortcuts or hints with help and support center? To me it doesn't seem very intuitive. It seems as if you have to tab or f6 through it. Any hints? Also, runas, for example logging on to a domain using jfw as a standard user, and than needing to perform an administrative task, computer management comes to mind. Using runas with jfw works, but it's weird, it's like there's a focus issue, is anyone else seeing this? For example, sometimes you have to read the current line and it's read, but jfw won't read it automatically? Thanks. Dave.

No Happiness with SQL Tools

Fellas, I am beginning to think I've been outa the biz too long when I start looking at the MySQL management tools around these days. Why do they have to make it so wiz-bang complicated? All I want is a nice navigable screen with database names to open, tables to walk up and down, table definitions without a lot of drop-down choices with buttons JAWS cannot find, and a forms definitions language that's not all drag and drop to create something that's user-friendly/user-useable and accessible all at the same time. Am I asking for the moon here? 30 years ago when I was writing order entry systems, we had relational databases with a dozen relational tables that were easier to maintain than what I'm llooking at tonight. Seriously, is it me, or what? The most I can do with the EMS stuff is select databases to register in the product. I cannot open them, cannot view or create tables in them, nothing. TIA.
