piping password hashes in to a mysql command

Hello, I'm doing a database upgrade. I am increasing some columns and adding a password hash. What I'm wanting to do is increase one column from a varchar(128) to a varchar(150) I've tried: alter table table_name set column_name varchar(150) didn't work, can anyone spot my sql error? I'm using SecureCRT to access the server. What I'm wanting to do is take the output of this command: dovecot pw -s SHA512-CRYPT which gives me a nice lovely password and use that in an sql create or update statement. My question how do you get that command output in to the create or update commands? On windows I would select the information copy to clipboard and paste. I do not believe I have that choice here. Seeking information about the accessibility of shoretel phone and computer system

Hi everyone, My name is Sam. I was recommended to join this list by Catherine, thank you! I am volunteering at an emotional support hotline in Chicago IL that uses the shoretel unified communication system I think it's called. Basically the phone and computer are connected. The organization has never had a blind volunteer before so is hesitant about being sure I can independently use the technology. A lot of what we would do on calls envolves transferring, calling another number while on a call with someone, conference call and I think that's it. I have not had any experience with this system before. It's taken me forever to find anyone who's blind who could talk with me about it. Catherine has been extremely helpful and also recommended this list for more information. Basically am curious how well a screen reader would work in doing the above tasks and in general with the program. I use NVDA and am totally blind. Also I would need a headset with one ear for the phone and one for the computer and would like to know the best way to get one that's inexpensive as possible and that would work with any computer or phone at the organization, all wor stations are the same so I guess that doesn't matter. But just making sure I get the right one basically. I have contacted the Chicago lighthouse as I know lighthouse programs use them. Have not heard back, will be contacting other lighthouse programs. Pentesting tools, experiences with accessibility thereof

HI all. I've been reading a couple of books on pentesting, IT security in generl, have a virtual test environment, using Kali linux. From an accessability PoV, asking for any tips / experiences / pitfalls with using some of the main tools mentioned in the reading material I've got. I'm a screen reader user and typically SSH into Kali from the Windows host. (espeakup is broken at the moment.) I know Berp Suite isn't accessible. How do you find Nessus? I've got it installed and tried a basic scan. I can't make much sense of the table of results or see how to get details. Maybe I'm misunderstanding it or missing a button with JAWS. I'm accessing it via Firefox. I'm fine at picking my way through learning the command line tools. Using metasploit framework, so far. I got into this as interested in networking and security. I suspect it might be one of those things I can only get so far with then be at a significant disadvantage due to accessability and speed. Well and my brain maybe too... :D Anyway thoughts welcome. help with Accessibility or alternatives for some cisco apps?

Hi listers. I'd like to know if anybody has come in to contact with and possibly have a workaround regarding accessibility , or has found alternative applications for the following cisco products? cisco IP communicator: no accessibility at all with JFW, NVDA, or supernova. cisco jabber: App is useable to some extent but definitely needs more work for ease of use. Cisco Unified Attendant Console I've had a very breif moment with these apps as we were trying to help someone get setup using a switchboard that the company has. Any help or alternatives for these apps would be much appreciated. I just want to say a thank you to all members on this list for helping each other. I really don't know where else to ask. Looking for a reliable way to generate Windows VMs for testing.q

Hi everyone, I know this seems to come up quite a lot in various forms, but I haven't yet found a solution that works well for me and I'm not actually a Windows person much of the time. Background: I work in tech support and do everything currently from first to third line. I'm mainly on Mac and Linux, but some times I need to test GUI apps on Windows. Also there is now a drive to make one of our products more accessible, starting with NVDA/Jaws on Windows. I therefore want a way to be able to reliably spin up Windows VMs for testing that is as fast as possible. At present I would be happy with only Windows10, if accessibility makes this an easier process than older versions. The ultimate would be to have the ability to spin up VMs from Win7 to Win10, with NVDA running. I am happy to use pre-built Vagrant boxes, to save on build time if that is possible. What I have tried so far: I did some experiments with Vagrant and Packer, but this took a very long time and I never really got to the state of getting NVDA installed and running. I then tried with some of the pre-build Windows boxes. The plan was to install chocolaty, then use it to install NVDA. I could not do this over SSH, because the power shell scripts would not run. I tried switching to using RDP, but still could not get the scripts to automatically run, because they were not getting transferred to the box. This may be because my knowledge of Vagrant is lacking. Questions: Is it possible to provision a pre-built Windows box with Chocolaty and then NVDA, using a power shell script that is placed on the machine when the Vagrant script runs for the first time? If not, then is using something like Puppet or Chef the way to go? Or, is the way to get what I want to build the boxes from scratch using Packer? Not sure if this matters but I have found VirtualBox accessibility on the MAc to be really really lacking, so am planning to get the Vagrant Plugin for VMWare, so I can actually access my machines GUI once they are built and working. Hi, Is anyone here using new add-on for Eloquence and Vocalizer for NVDA from Codefactory in the corporate enviromment in non administrative mode, and does it work good for you? Here in the European parliament we are currently dooing testing evaluation of new AT products for blind employees, and actually it looks like that Codefactory did not do their job properly because the add-on refuse to run in non admin mode. However if the user has the admin rights, than the add-on works fine, but after the user is pulled out of the admin group, the add-on is asking for the registration and it does not want to run. Btw the add-on is already registered, and when the user is in the admin group, you can see that the licence is valid. Thanks.
