Hi all, Just reading various blogs this morning, and came across this: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/08/27/452169.aspx The Exchange team are considering using Silverlight with some sort of web interface. There is a link there to a survey, which I believe we should take part in in order to express our views about the accessibility of this technology, and what it could mean if more MS interfaces start going down this approach. who here has played with Windows Server 2008 R2?

So out of curiosity, has any one here played with Windows Server 2008 R2? I've been messing with it for a few days now. One odd issue I'm seeing is if I RDP into a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine and run a screen reader, the visual display freezes, and nothing goes into the screen reader's offscreen model, but otherwise the screen reader runs. In this case I'm using Window-Eyes 7.1. Out of curiosity is anyone else seeing this with any screen reader? Thanks. Ryan

perplexing permissions problem

Hello, I have a perplexing permissions problem that i thought i had, but it's resurfaced. I'm running CentOS 5.3 and it runs an apache web server. The permissions on the web data directory in this case /var/www/secure/data are set to 4775 owner of apache group of webdev. All users that should be allowed to place content are in the webdev group. I was under the impression that any file then placed in that directory would have a owner of apache and a group of webdev permissions of 664. Whenever a locally logged on user adds content permissions are set to 664 but owner and group membership are that of the user who added the files not apache and webdev. The issue is further compounded when a user logs in via ftp and adds files or folders. They are owned by the ftp user and group. Any assistance appreciated. Thanks. Dave.

wireless router occationally dropping signal

Hello, I've got a 2wire 2701 dsl modem. I've got it in bridged mode since i don't like it's dhcp or firewall abilities so it's wireless nat and other features are off, it's a bridge only. Behind it and serving my network is a Linksys wrt54g2v1 wired and wireless router. It's using the Linksys supplied firmware 1.0.01 although 1.0.03 is out i'm not yet decided to update to that or to a linux firmware package called dd-wrt. Does anyone have this particular router and using either the linksys 1.0.03 or the dd-wrt linux firmware? The problem i'm trying to solve is that occationally the wireless router either drops signal or something interferes with a machine's receiving of it, i haven't figured out which. When this occurs the box needs a power off, wait a second or two, then a power back up it'll usually get it back then. Question, is there a speech-friendly way to determine signal strength in bars of your router and another router not on your network, this is in xp? I've got another one, the machine in question picks it up with only one bar, and dropped a signal. Now it could be either the one bar other network, maybe we're on the same chanel, i have already switched from 6 to 11, or my refrigerator which is in almost perfect line between the machine in question and the router. Moving the machine isn't doable, moving the refrigerator obviously isn't, moving the router might be. I'm not sure if this is causing my occational signal drop, it doesn't happen all the time. I'm just guessing. Any assistance appreciated. Thanks. Dave.

ASA 5500 question

Hi, getting an error while trying to set up a lan to lan session and google isn't treating me well.;) The error is IKEV1, unable to remove peer from table, no match! Anyone have any clues what this is? The device on the local side is an ASA5520 and the far end is a Pix 515. Thanks Scott

Hello, This one is for webmasters or those who administer web servers. I'm looking for a robots.txt file or perhaps entries to add to an httpd.conf or .htaccess file to block or keep out bad spiders, crawlers that proliferate spam, or any type of marketing thingy, anything other than a search engine.
