Hello listers, on windows xp I manage to connect the pocket, then if I
want to charch it on USB, I would simply virtually aject it and it
will restart and charch. Now that I'm on windows7, its no longer the
case. Nothing happens if I safely remove the device but leave it
physically connected, it just stays in disk drive moad. Is there
perhaps a setting in windows wich could affect this behaviour? Or is
it no longer possible to charch the pocket in this mannor on a pc?

Yes, a little extra info will help, if you record something wich will
be on the sd card at that point, then you have to build the book first
before copying to cd or such.

Can anyone "talk" me through using the "Build a book" feature on the pocket
please? I am particularly interested in being able to contain an 8 disk
audio book into one so any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Val.

Hi all, I don't see the problem, since the Victor Stream can read them! I
was told it was a licensing issue, but why can these other devices do it
and not the Plex-talk?

Hi all, though I can't read braille as well as I used to, do to my
fingers being less sensitive, there are titles on the bard site in the
BRF format that can be listened to with a player that can handle these
file tipes, such as the Victor Reader Stream. Unfortunatly, I fried my
Stream, do to a stupid mistake on my part, and when I replaced it with a
Plextalk Pocket, I was disappointed to find out I could no longer read
these files. I still don't understand why, if three diferent companys
have license to play these files, why the plextalk doesn't. It sounds
like politics to me, but then what do I know! GRIN!

Hi all, the main reason I want BRF capability is to read Popular
Communications from NLS. I have some program, but have never figured out
how to use it!

Hi Rick, thanks for that news! I wonder if the new update will allow the
playing of .brf and .brl files?

Is anyone heard anything on a firmware update for the Plextalk? I heard that we were supposed to be getting some of the features of the European model.
