Win 2k3 64 and screen readers

Hi all, I have inherited the responsibility of managing a Dell PE 2900 with Win 2k3. Since it has 8 gigs of memory I assume it is the 64 bit version of Win 2k3. Does anyone know what screen reader(s) I can get to work on it. Can the 64 bit version of JFW work in this scenario? Also on a related note if I have the service tag from the server is there anywhere on the Dell site where I can punch it in and find out just what equipment it was built with? Thanks Frank

Ryan, thanks. I haven't gotten my hands on the box yet so I am not sure. I know it wouldn't be Data center edition but Enterprise x86 ... hmm, maybe. It is an ex web server being demoted to file server duties. I will pretty much have carte blanche to manage it so I wonder if I cannot get a screen reader on it could I upgrade to Win2k8 Std 64 bit? Would there be drivers for that install? You'll need Vista or later because they only have a 64-bit mirror driver. Do you know what the server does, what software's installed on it, etc.? If the server is running Windows 2003 Enterprise or Datacenter, then even the 32-bit version will work with the 8GB of memory, I'm not entirely sure how or why that's possible, but I think the 32-bit version of Enterprise supports up to 12GB, and Datacenter supports up to 64GB. I'd need to do some research to find the exact numbers though. I know a lot of people stuck to the 32-bit version of 2003 due to compatability purposes, a lot of non Microsoft apps just didn't like 64-bit Windows back in the days of 2003. Yup, ran into this the other day. I went through the whole site to find the link to download the firmware update to a Linksys WRV200 router only to find out that it eventually ends up in a totally inaccessible JAVA based download manager. I had to have a sited friend use that download manager for me. Anyone else figure out a workaround for this? Anyone else noticing Cisco becoming less and less accessible?

Hi all, I know this has come up in some forms before but has anyone else noticed how unfriendly to screen readers Cisco's web site and products are becoming? I just tried to download the latest windows VPN client and got lost in a java based download manager that had absolutely no output recognizable to JFW. This sucks! In fact, WTF! I guess this makes my decision to suggest that my company migrate over to Juniper even easier. Isn't there some federal accessibility standard or some such in place that Cisco has to conform to in order to market the US government? Can't some pressure be applied from that angle? Thanks Scott
